Sorry Mom

At first I wasn't going to tell my Mom what happened to me last night on the way to Walmart. But, if you know me, I can't keep anything from my Mom. I tell her everything and sometimes, a little too much.

Anywho...last night on the way to Walmart in Ft. Oglethorpe, GA...something bad happened. Going my normal route there, Cloud Springs Road was backed up; so I decided to take a detour on Mineral Road.

Next thing I knew, I was being flagged to turn into this parking lot by a Policeman!!!

I do have to say this first; he was a very, very polite and nice Policeman. He took my license and insurance card and went to his car. I was hoping he would give me a warning, but when he came back to the car; he said, "I really hate to do this to you; but I'm going to have to give you a ticket". I understood because I was speeding, but I really thought he would just give me a warning.

My Mom is always telling me to slow down and obey the speed limit signs. I never listen though...well, I will now. The ticket will be approximately $115 per Ringgold Probate Court House. I have until November 1st to pay it or go to court to plead not guilty. I will pay it in stride and start slowing down.

After Walmart, I did the speed limit all the way home and this morning...it took me an extra 5 minutes to make it to work; but well worth not having to give the Catoosa County Probate Court my hard-earned money.

Mom's really do know, huh?

if you think the ticket was expensive, wait til your insurance rates go up, and stay that way for a long time.

especially when stoplights are involved in your journey, it just doesnt make any sense to speed.

I've had 1 speeding ticket about 15 years ago and it never affected my car insurance. I had 1 wreck that I didn't get ticketed for; but was my fault and it never went up then either. I hope it doesn't affect it this time.
