During dinner tonight, we were watching Steve Irwin and his animal show in Australia. I noticed that he drove on the left side of the road and I asked Shane, "A lot of countries drive on the left side of the road; so what makes how we drive be considered the right way?" I told him I was going to do some research on it and blog about it.
Here I am blogging about it and asking, "Which side is really the "right" side?". I found this article and I was surprised that out of 239 countries, 32% of them drive on the right side of the road.
So, even though the majority of the countries drive on the right side; does that make it right?
Something to ponder.....

It took while for me to get used to driving on the right-hand side. I would go to the passenger side of the car instead of the driver's side and even after 4 years here, I still at times put on the wipers instead of the turn lights. I get miffed when people tell me I come from a country where people drive on the wrong side, I think as long as you are obeying the traffic rules of the country you are driving in, then you are driving on the correct side :-)
