HAPPY HALLOWEEN

Growing up I don't remember if we actually carved pumpkins. I remember we had one sitting on our porch; but unsure if it was ever a carved pumpkin with a face.

So now that I have my own house, I wanted to decorate a pumpkin. It was a lot of hard work. It's a pain trying to clean out the pumpkin insides. Below is my finished product.

Air Show 2005

This weekend was the Air Show 2005. You could go to Boyd Buchanan School and donate $5 and sit there to watch it; which ended up being a GREAT idea.

We got some great pictures of the show. I'll post those later to my Flickr Badge; but here's a shot of The Blue Angels.

Haunted Cavern

Tonight, Shane and I took Logan (his son) to the Haunted Cavern at Ruby Falls. This is supposed to be the scariest haunted house, cave, barn, etc. in Chattanooga.

Shane is big into surprises, so anytime we take the kids anywhere special; he won't tell them where we are going. He just builds them up to the surprise. So, he has built Logan up to going somewhere, but Logan never expected this.

We get to Ruby Falls and wait for the "FUN" to begin. We have to wait about 5 mins and then we ride the elevator down 260 feet to the caves that wait us below. Once we got to the caves, I had to stop and remind myself that nothing is going to happen to us. I can sometimes get panicky if I think I'm in an enclosed place without any air. I got to thinking what if something happened and the caves just fell upon us. Anyway, back to the story.

We are off to the tour. I haven't been to many haunted houses, actually just 1; so I was a bit nervous.

The cave is dark and Shane is in the lead. Shane is always in the lead because he is 6'4" and a rather big guy that could protect us. Logan is right beside Shane and I'm behind both of them and a bunch of kids are behind me.

Of course, all these creatures start jumping out at us and scaring us. I screamed a few times; but everything seemed okay until the END.

We hear a chain saw going as we are nearing the end and I'm thinking, OMG, that is a real chain saw because I can smell the engine going. Shane has Logan right beside him holding onto him and here comes Leatherface. He is right on Shane and Logan, mainly Logan. Just putting that saw right about 1/2 inch from Logan and Logan starts screaming and crying hysterically. We make it past him and Shane is consoling Logan. We are waiting on the van to take us back up to Ruby Falls and while in line, here comes Leatherface again with that dang chainsaw.

This time, he zeros in on Logan and is running that blade up and down Logan's chest. I then look closer at the saw and the blade is fake; however, Logan is screaming and crying and the guy won't stop. I thought Shane was going to knock the hell out of him. I finally said, "Enough" and the guy walked away.

It took about 10 mins for Shane to get Logan calmed down. The Haunted Cavern was really great if you are looking for a scare; however, it states not entended for children under 8. Logan is 10 so we didn't think it would be that bad. You may want to think twice before you take your children there.

I enjoyed it though except for that last part.

From Shane

Today at work, this girl got a bouquet of flowers for her anniversary. It was so big, the word was they cost $230. However, I would take this email poem I got from Shane anyday over him spending that much money on something that will die within a week.

I love you, oh , I love you so
I cannot start to say
How much you mean to me, my dear
Today and everyday
You are the angel of my life
The candle burning low
And every whisper in the hills
When winds begin to blow
You are the rustle of the leaves
When autumn is at hand
And then you are the snow
That sweeps across the land
Your eyes are the sultry nights
Of summer in the air
And only as I see you cry
Is April anywhere
I love you, oh, I love you dear
With all the heart in me
And you will be my only love
For all eternity.

Wasn't that so sweet of him?? I love him!!!!

Dieting, ughhhh!!

I'm getting tired of dieting. Well, let me rephrase that. The dieting isn't so bad; it's the NOT loosing that is discouraging me.

I've been dieting for 19 weeks now, that is almost 5 months) and I've lost a total of 21 lbs. Now, I'm starting to go back and forth; loose a pound 1 week, gain 1.5 the next and back and forth.

I'm working out atleast 2 days a week and last week, I even walked around my neighborhood 2 days a week also. I gained 1.4 lbs this week.

How long does it take to build enough muscle to make you start loosing the FAT???!!!!

Kids Say the Darndest Things, Part II

Sunday, I had just finished walking around my neighborhood(lots of hills) and had came in, got undressed to take a shower and laid on the bed a few minutes under the ceiling fan to get cooled off.

My niece, Ashley, called stating she was bored and wanted to come over. I tried to explain it was 7 at night and I was just about to get a shower and rest for the evening. She didn't care, she wanted to come over. So, I then told her that I had just finished walking and was about to take a shower and laying naked on the bed. She said, "No, you aren't". I was like, yes I am. She asked me where Shane(my boyfriend) was? I said, "He is in the computer room". She said, "Good, because he doesn't need to see you naked".

I just thought that was funny because she knows we live together as boyfriend and girlfriend and knows we sleep in the same bed. I guess she doesn't understand the rest; which is a good thing since she's only 8.

Halloween Decorating

Since Halloween is only 2 weeks ago, today is the day we are going to decorate our yard.

We have some spider webbing to go over some bushes and then we have skeleton's to hang from the trees. They glow in the dark. Also, I have a big blow up Mickey, dressed as a vampire, in a pumpkin to set out on my porch.

I can't wait for Ashley to get up so we can start decorating and go to The Dollar General Mart to buy more decorations.

I'm all about decorating for the Holidays!!!! I'll post pictures afterwards.

Here is a picture of Mickey; but you can find all other pictures of my Halloween Decorations from my flickr page.

IT'S A GIRL!!!!!

It's official, "IT'S A GIRL!!!"

Giada Michele Henley was born on October 6, 2005 @ 5:40 pm. She weighs 7 lbs. 2 oz. and is 19 inches long.

My niece had a really easy time once she started dilating. She only had to push 2 times and the doctor didn't even make it on time.

Giada is really cute; she looks just like her mommy, Amanda.

Here is a picture of here and you can see more pictures on Flickr down below. Of course, I'll have more pictures later also. These pictures were right after she was born. I'll take more today and I'm sure she'll have changed.

CONGRATULATIONS, AMANDA!!!!

Amazing Babies

My mom sent me an email this morning that had 10 pictures attached to it. They looked like real life babies except for the size. These babies are made out of Marzipan.

Marzipan is an Almond Paste, which is a sweet paste made of ground almonds and sugar, often with egg whites or yolks, used as a layer in cakes or molded into ornamental shapes.

I hope you enjoy some of these pictures and are amazed like I was.

Today is the Day!!

We still have no baby; however, Dr. Boyd told my niece that somehow she is having this baby today. Either she'll go into labor or they will do a C-section. He said he won't let her go past 3 days of doing nothing. So, by tonight, we should have a baby.

I'll let you know tomorrow.

No Baby Yet

Well, so far, no baby yet. Amanda is still in the hospital doing nothing. She hasn't dilated any, her cervix isn't softening or anything. Her contractions aren't even barely on the ricter scale. She said she can feel them, but they can't anything.

They even put the gel in last night and still nothing yet.

If she is anything like her mother(my sister), she'll never go into labor. My sister never even had the first contraction with either of her children. She ended up having C-Sections.

I'll keep you posted as the soon as I know more.

A New Life Begins....

My niece, Amanda, is pregnant. She is due October 6th; however, as I write this, she is on her way to the hospital to be induced. This will be my 3rd great-niece. Yes, I said niece again. In my family, we have all girls; except for my 1 nephew, Jason, who is 22.

Our family has very strong genes and all the babies look alike. That is all the babies up until my other 2 great-nieces. They favor their mother alot. I guess the further down the line we go, the weaker our genes become.

With that said, I'm anxious to see what this baby will look like. Her name will be Giada Michele. The first name is what my mother picked out because she loves Giada De Laurentiis, a chef on the Food Network. The name is pronounced Gee-ada. Of course, I'm sure alot of people will pronounce it Jada, which I'm probably one of those people...haha

Anyway, hopefully, we will have a baby today or tonight. I hope all goes well for Amanda and the baby.

I'll let you know tomorrow, hopefully, and have pictures!!!
