Yesterday, Ashley and I were to go to Lake Winnie with the other 3rd and 4th graders from Grace Baptist Academy. At around 9:40, the principal cancelled the trip due to the forecast.
It really disappointed the kids; but the parents were wondering why it got cancelled. The sun was shining and we all knew the forecasters aren't THAT predictable. Anyway, it did shower for about 30 mins; but it wasn't a thunderstorm like they predicted.
As I'm in the school waiting for the final decision; I didn't take my cellphone inside. After they cancelled, when I got to my car; I had missed 9 phone calls.
I had 4 voicemails. 3 were from Shane hysterically upset wondering why he couldn't get a hold of me.
When I finally reached him, he said that he had been hit over the back of the head and his money was stolen. He just got his 1st full paycheck and had it cashed.
He said his head hurt, but the police were on their way.
When I got home; yes, home, it happened in our garage. Shane was fine; just a sore neck and a headache; but he was really upset about this.
Now Shane is a physical big boy and I'm always saying how he protects me and I'm not scared with him around at all. I know he would take care of me if anyone tried anything.
He said he had just pulled into our garage and was getting his stuff out of his truck, he was at the bed of the truck messing with his things, wallet in hand. All of a sudden, someone hit him in the back of the head. He said he went down on his knees and just barely saw someone running away from the scene and then passed out. He was out for about 10-15 mins.
All is well now; except the loss of his paycheck.
I really don't understand how someone can hurt a person for their money that they worked hard for. If you need money for things that you want; then I suggest you go out and work like the rest of the world does. If you need money for drugs and are that desperate, then I suggest you go get help.
Drugs make people do things that any right person wouldn't think of doing. If you choose to do drugs, then ruin your own life and not everyone else's.
