Now You Gnome

Shane's mother loves Gnomes. She has so much yard decoration at her house that anytime I see something she would love; I feel the need to buy it for her.

I love bird feeders. I have one hanging outside the master bath and I can see it from my bedroom. I enjoy seeing the different types of birds that eat at my feeder, but I really love my other visitors, the squirrels. Squirrels hang upside down at the feeder and just eat for literally about 20 mins on the bird feed.

This would be really cute to watch the squirrels feed at. I may just have to get this.

A Neat and Quick Way to Fold a Shirt

I saw this on The Martha Stewart Show one time and thought this would be a neat way to fold your shirts. I, being the Type A that I am, loved how the shirt looked perfectly folded.

I couldn't grasp how you did it on TV, but I ran across this video. It's not in English; but she goes slow and you can grasp it. I'm going to try it next laundry day.

KISS

For the last few weeks, I've been watching the new Gene Simmons Realty Show called Gene Simmons Family Jewels.

I have never been a KISS fan at all. I can't even tell you one song that they sing; however, when I saw the preview of this new show, it got my attention.

I'm a big reality TV show fan, so I thought what the heck.

I have to be honest, it was a really good show. Gene Simmons has 2 children and has been unhappily married for 23 years to the mother of his children. He seems like a genuinely good guy. His children are very well behaved and are straight A students.

After I watched the show a couple of times, I was entriqued with Gene Simmons and wanted to find out more about him. I went to his Web site and learned a lot about him.

I always thought KISS was this hard rock band with the normal band members who partied, drank and did drugs. Gene Simmons has never touched drugs nor has he ever drank either.

He produced several artists and their records including Liza Minnelli. That shocked me.

He even has a cartoon on The Cartoon Network called My Dad the Rock Star.

I definitely think that you shouldn't judge people by their looks because you'll never know the real person until you look passed their looks.

DR Appt #2

Today I had my last follow-up visit from my surgery. I'm fine and cleared to go back to work Monday.

To be honest, I'm ready to go back to work. I'm a worker and I don't like sitting at home even if I sometimes run errands; I enjoy work.

I found out that I was about 6-7 weeks pregnant when my tube erupted. I should be able to get pregnant again and I will try again...later on.

Kind of scared about what if it happens again? If it happened again, that would be my last chance to have a child. So, I'll be very cautious this time and definitely watch for signs.

I think the whole process of having a baby is so amazing; I just hope one day soon that I'll be able to experience it.

Hit The 50 lb. Mark

I finally got to my 50 lb. goal! I have actually lost 52.4 lbs. in 14 months and I still have a way to go to meet my actual weight goal; but 50 lbs. is definitely something I was working towards.

Well, I have 5 weeks until my HS Reunion, so unrealisticly, I'd like to lose another 10 lbs.; but realisticly, 5-7 lbs. would be great also.

Isn't dieting so much fun??

Left-Handers Day

DR Appt #1

Today I went and saw my family doctor for my 6 months check-up. I was hoping I had lost enough weight to stop taking my blood pressure medicine (BPM). Well, I haven't taken my BPM since I had my surgery. My BP has been 120/73, 140/80 and today it was 112/82. The doctor was very proud of me for my weight loss and that my blood pressure was under control. No more BPM!!! Not only is that a good thing for my health; but a good thing for my bank account also. Saves me $280/year.

I still take medicine for my cholesterol; however, that's my next goal.

I have my final check-up with my ob/gyn Wednesday and then it's back to work Monday. Wish me luck.

This year just got worse

My father was married to my step-mother for 28 years before he passed away. When my father died, I changed my view of my step-mother somewhat because she was really nice about the funeral. She made sure to include my father's first children; me and my 2 sisters. I wondered when my father died, did that mean she was no longer my step-mother? How does that work when your parent passes away and they are still married to your step-parent?

It's always been an understanding that if anything ever happened to my stepmom that Ashley would live with me. I have helped raise her since the first weekend of her life. As I've said before, she has her own bedroom at my house and she would be well taken care of.

This past weekend, everything just blew up with Ashley and my stepmom, Liz. She let my step-brother, Kevin and his wife take Ashley. In order to try to control her and get her on a schedule and get something constant in her life.

You can't imagine how much this hurt me. I love Ashley like she is my own child. It broke my heart when I heard that Liz let Kevin take her for "a while". That just proved to me that Liz never cared about me or my feelings. Yes, we got into a little argument during the blow up but still. I tried to make peace and she just totally ignored me like I didn't exist.

I guess once your parent dies, the step-parent isn't your parent anymore and she just proved that point this past weekend to me.

This past weekend was so uncalled for and yet it effected so many lives and broke some hearts. I hope everything works out for everyone involved, but our lifes will never be the same nor the feelings that once was felt for one another.

Outfit for Reunion

As you know my 20th High School Reunion is coming up in September. We got our invitation and the dress is semi-formal; which I'm glad because I wanted to find the perfect dress.

Really Bad Year

This has been a really bad year for me and my family. One of my cousins was killed in an automobile accident last night. She was 20 years old.
