Is 2007 Really Almost Over?

Christmas is over; but the decorations are still there as a reminder. I've begun to take down some of my decorations but not the tree yet. I have taken down all the decorations from the kitchen and bathroom and gotten all the decorations down from the walls and all in one spot. Just need to get my boxes down from the attic and put everything away.

Ashley and Logan have been here since Christmas Eve and they both are going home tonight. I love having them here; but I love sending them home too.

I've been off work since the 21st and I haven't worked but only about 30 minutes the entire time. I only answered some emails and that was it. I'm off until the 3rd so I still have time to relax and enjoy the remainder of the year.

I can't believe 2007 is really almost over; the year went by so fast and we lost two very important loved ones. Shane lost his mother earlier this year and then I just lost my sister.

Next year we will have something to celebrate and I'm hoping it will be a GREAT 2008!!

On The 8th Day of Christmas....

On The 8th Day of Christmas my true love gave to me..........A breakfast fit for a king at 5:30 (am that is).

This morning Shane woke me up around 5:30 and said, "Get up, I want to show you something!". My reply was, "I'm still sleeping". I got up anyway and he had made Bacon, Scrambled Eggs, Homemade Biscuits and Gravy.

It was a great breakfast and a big Surprise!!!

On The 4th Day of Christmas....

Okay, it's the 4th day of Christmas and my true love hasn't given anything to me....

Seriously, only 8 more days until Christmas and the presents have been bought and all but 4 big presents (that are going out of town) have been wrapped, tagged and under the tree.

I do have gift cards to buy, but that's not stressful at all. Saturday, we will be traveling to my sister's house in Westmoreland, TN for our Christmas with her family. Then back home and wait for Santa to arrive.

Oh, I do still have some stocking stuffers to buy but other than that; I'm just waiting for Santa.

I hope everyone is ready and waiting and not have to do any last minute shopping.

What a Day

This morning, I finished decorating my Christmas tree and was planning on spending the evening wrapping presents. My mom and I took Ashley home around 2:30 and around 3:00 pm; we received a phone call from my sister, Sheryl saying that she was sick and was going to the ER. She has been having some problems for a couple of weeks now; but nothing major, so we thought.

Within 5 minutes of Sheryl calling us saying she was going to the ER; my niece, Ami called in hysterics crying that "momma died". This was an absolute shock to my mother and I. We immediately called Shane to meet us at the hospital. Once there, the ambulance came with Sheryl and was trying to revive her and we were told they were working on her.

I felt a little relieved to know they were working on her; that meant she hadn't died. About 15 minutes later, we were asked to go wait in the family room and a doctor would be in to see us. When 4 people walked thru the door; we knew the news that was about to change our lives forever.

My sister, Sheryl, passed away this afternoon. I don't know if she knew how much I truley loved her; but I did so much and I will miss her so much.

In Memory of Sheryl Ann Tatum...you'll be missed and we love you!!

Surprise Wedding Poll

Okay, this may come as a HUGE surprise to people that know me; but my mom and I were talking about Shane and I get married out of town. We discussed Las Vegas and Hawaii. I'm big on family and getting married out of town can be a bit expensive unless you are just super rich; which none of my family is.

So, I turn to you to ask.

Wedding Venue
Would you consider getting married out of town with a few family members?
Definitely!
Maybe?
NO WAY!
Depends on who could go

Poor Baby

As I write this; Diesel is at the ER Pet Hospital. He has been there since last night. Let me start from the beginning.

We give Diesel his medicine every 12 hours, which is normally between 6:30-7:00 am and then again 6:30-7:00 pm. After dinner, I went out to give Diesel his medicine and he was acting funny. He was acting like there was something in the room with us and it was after him. I knew then something was wrong. Diesel started slowing just shaking his head and then he went down to the floor and started having a seizure. I went to get Shane and Shane talked him out of it. It only lasted at the most a minute. We were able to give him some treats along with his pill. We made sure he was fine and went inside. We still watched him very closely and within minutes; he had another seizure, then another and then yet another.

He had 4 seizures all within a 30 minute of each other. We immediately called the ER vet and was told to bring him in. After his seizures; he often can't see and is disoriented, so Shane was walking him to the car. Well, he walked right off our retaining wall. It's about a 3 foot drop!! Scared me to death; but he was okay. I think by being out of it saved him from getting hurt. I don't know though.

Anyway, we took him to the vet and they wanted to keep him for observation overnight. They put an IV in his little paw in case he had a seizure they were ready to shoot him with Valium. The vet there really didn't do what I expected; however, I spoke with my normal vet's office and they said all they are meant to do is stable the pet and then you take him to your normal vet the next day. (i still don't agree with it).

So, I'll be taking Diesel to Dr. Martin this morning at 10:30 to get his blood levels checked. This is all just so stressful watching your dog have to go thru this. It's very scary when he has a seizure and just very frustrating not knowing why this is happening.

If anyone knows anything about Bulldogs and seizures; please contact me. I welcome all advise.

Phone Numbers

Does everyone remember back in the 80's the song, 867-5309? I'm sure you do. Matt Lauer was talking about onThe Today Show America the other day and I had to blog about it and his conversation.

First of all, when I lived alone back in the 90's, my phone number was 867-2309 and I kept thinking, why does that sounds so familiar. Then, it hit me that it was so close to the infamous 867-5309 song.

Back to the The Today Show. Matt gave 5 phone numbers that will change your life and I found them to be really interesting. They are:

1-866-MYTRAFC (698-7232)
You can call this toll free number and get any traffic delays. They say it is very detailed and so much better than what your radio gives you in their 10 second spot.

1-334-844-4244
Even though this number isn't toll free, it may be worth the money spent to verify a bet. This is a number to the Auburn Question line. It is answered by Auburn students and they will answer ANY question you have about ANY subject. Matt called them and in less than 5 seconds had the answer to, "What is Barbie's real name?".

1-800-QUITNOW (784-8669)
This number is to help you quit smoking. Not sure what they do over the phone; but hey, it's a toll free number and worth a try for anyone trying to quit.

1-866-411-SONG (7664)
Song stumped? Ever heard a song on the radio and just can't think of the name or anything and it just stays with you and bugs you all day. Well, you can call this number and sing parts of the song or hum the music and they will tell you the name and artist of the song. Been there, done that before!

1-415-989-SFSI (7374)
This is a sex question line and before you say it; they made sure to be clear that it isn't a porn line. It is answered by licensed, clinical people. They will help you with any sex question that you may have. It's supposed to be very professional.

I think some of the numbers could be very helpful in certain situations and maybe the toll free ones, I may try one day. Hope you enjoyed the info.
