Chicken Pox

Wednesday, I had Skylar along with Ashley and took the day off and made it a movie day.

Well, when my sister-in-law picked up Skylar, she noticed some bumps on her back and just thought they were heat bumps. The kids had been outside playing. Later on that evening, we found out she had Chicken Pox. I didn't know if Ashley had ever had them; but she was over at her Granny's and evidentially played with Skylar that evening.

Today, when Ashley got out of the shower, she noticed some small red bumps on her body. I looked at them and looked online and sure 'nough, she has the chicken pox too. I had to send her to her Granny's again tonight because Shane has never had the chicken pox and he cannot get them with a month to go before the Wedding.

Ashley has had the chicken pox vaccination so her case will hopefully be mild and won't be so bad....they didn't look that bad.

I had the chicken pox when I was little; but ever since she left, I've been itching like crazy.

I think it's just the thought of them....yuck!!

Movie Day

Today, I had planned on taking Ashley and Skylar to see Narnia, Prince Caspian at the Hamilton Place 10-17 Theatre. On Weds., admission is only $1. Then, this morning, I remembered that the Rave had free movies on Tuesday and I went to look at their site and it's actually Tuesday and Weds., so at 10:00, we went to see Surf's Up for free!!!

Two movies in one day for less than $5 total; can't beat that.

One of Ashley's summer reading books was Narnia, Prince Caspian and she just could never get into reading the book, so I thought I'd take her to the movie and she could grasp that better. When she starts school, they are going to have a Narnia Day and talk about the book.

Also, the first Friday of the first week, she has a poster due about another book she has to read this summer. She's reading it now and it's called Missing May.

Well, we are off to see Narnia.

A Day of Remembrance

Today would have been my dad's 65th Birthday. He passed away 5 years ago and I think of him all the time.

I, especially, think of him during this time in my life when my Wedding is approaching and he won't be there to walk me down the aisle. I know a wedding is supposed to be a joyous occasion and I know mine will be; there's just some family members that won't be there. My dad, my sister Sheryl and Shane's mother.

They are all very important people in our lives that should have been celebrating this day with us and will be greatly missed.

Anyway, today is a day to Celebrate my dad's life and remember back to all the good times we had together.

Happy Birthday, Daddy!!

Hard Times w/ Shoes

We have been having a very hard time finding my bridesmaid's shoes for the Wedding. I thought the dresses were chocolate brown; however, that's not the case. I finally ended up going to David's Bridal with the dress and matching it and it's called Truffle. I bought a swatch of it and off we went for looking for shoes again.

I found some really nice pink sandal heels at Shoe Carnival and they were 50% off, then buy one, get one 50%, so we got both pair for only $20. Yesterday, we also went to have the dresses fitted for alterations and the pink shoes didn't go well with the dress at all. Back to Shoe Carnival for a return.

Next, we went to Belk and they were having a huge shoe sale. We finally found some dark brown sandal heels and ended up getting them. They match the dresses really good.

I didn't think finding shoes would be this hard, but it was and very frustrating. Just 33 days left to the Wedding and I think everything is done but finishing up the centerpieces for the reception tables and finishing up the favors.

At least, I hope that's all I have left to do....

Christian, The Lion

I saw this video today on You Tube and just thought it was absolutely amazing.

The video tells the story, so I'm not going to repeat it. It really touched my heart when I watched it though. I think it was so emotional for me because that's how Diesel acts with me and Shane....just a very loving/loyal animal.

Shower

Saturday, I had another bridal shower at The Tea Cottage.

There were a total of 23 people there and we had a blast!!!! The food at The Tea Cottage was absolutely wonderful. The menu consisted of Chicken Salad Croissants, Strawberry Pretzel Salad, Fruit Tray, Veggie Tray, Peach Tea(WONDERFUL!!) and Pettifors.

Spending time with my family and friends that I haven't seen in a while was a lot of fun and I really enjoyed my day.

I received the following gifts:

Fiesta Dishes - yellow and blue
TV Trays
Toaster
Organic Bed Sheets
Several Wedding Picture Frames
8 Target Gift Cards
and Cash, which is always nice

I think we have 1 more shower on Shane's side of the family and then our Rehearsal Dinner and the WEDDING!!!!!

Just 47 more days!!

Pink Eye

I woke up this morning with my left eye feeling fine; however, within about an hour, my eye looked like this..

I went to the Walk-in Clinic and was told I had Pink Eye. They prescribed me drops and my eye is a lot better. I'm just glad I got this now and not the Saturday of my Wedding.

Gas Prices too High

I read online that because gas prices are too high that people may try to siphon gas from your car. Well, yesterday, Shane and I went to eat at Sugar's Ribs and my car was fine on the way there, however, when we went to left, my check engine light was on. I know one of the reasons that will come on if your gas cap isn't on securely. When we got home, that was the first thing I checked and sure enough, my gas cap wasn't on at all. It was just sitting there and just fell out when I opened my gas door. Also, the little silver flap that the gas pump nozzle pushes in, was completely gone!!!

No gas was missing per my gas gauge; but Shane seemed to think someone tried to siphon gas and then had to leave in a hurry and broke that silver flap.

it really pisses me off when people try to take things that don't belong to them. Everyone is hurting because of high gas prices, but you manage to get gas if you want to want to become a home body.

I called Sugar's just to make them aware in case they see anyone around or it happens to someone else.

Other than that, my 4th of July was good. I saw the movie, Hancock and it was really good!!! I would recommend seeing it.

Happy 4th of July!

Today is a day of independence or so they say. Today is supposed to be about commemorating the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776 where we, the USA, declared independence from Great Britain.

I think the USA is a very independent country; but the question always arises, "How free as people are we actually?'".

Just a thought to ponder; but enjoy your Independence Day and don't eat too much BBQ. I plan on going to the Lake and just enjoy the day with Shane. The kids are with each of their grandparents having fun I'm sure.

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!!!
