Well, my hair is done, my nails are done...now, I'm just patiently waiting for 1:30 to come. The Wedding is at 3:00 and then it's on....
I'm so ready for it to be here...
See you after Puerto Rico!!!
With only 2 days left until the Wedding; I have a few things to finish up before Saturday. Here's my TO DO list:
Thursday
1) Go to Hobby Lobby to pick up some more flowers
2) Go to Target for some luggage locks and tags
3) Go to Wilkens Research to participate in an EPB Fixed Rate group meeting
Friday
3) Take Diesel to get his vaccinations at Pet Smart
4) Get mine and Ashley's nails done
5) Pick up tuxedos from MW Tux
6) Meet preacher at church to take all my things so I don't have everything to carry on Saturday
7) Rehearsal Dinner
Saturday Morning
7) Get my hair done
8) Pick up 3 roses for lost loved ones
I think that's it....I have everything packed up to take to the church on Friday, so I think I'm finally ready!!!! Just hope the weather cooperates with us....
I went to the Choo-Choo Sunday and had photos made of me in my Wedding dress. The photographer was great and in 2 hours, she took about 500 photos. She has some posted on flickr; however, I can't post anything about the photos on here because I don't want Shane to see them.
I can show you this..

Once the Wedding has taken place; I will provide you with a link to the flickr set of photos. If you are looking for a great photographer, message me and I'll give you her information.
I saw this on my friend, Alli's, blog and thought it was cute...you should try it to see what your personality is. It was dead on mine except for the drink part; I couldn't find a picture of a Pina Colada. There are other types of personality tests you can take on here also. Lots of fun.
I can't believe there is only 15 more days until the Wedding. Everything is pretty much taken care of and just waiting for the day to come now. Here's a list of things left to do:
Sunday, I'm meeting a photographer at the Choo-Choo to get my pictures taken
Next Weds., Shane and I finish up our last pre-marital class
Next Thursday, Shane and I go get our marriage license
Next Friday, Shane and his friends will go out
Next Saturday, My friends and I will go out
Week of the Wedding, Mom and I will go have beauty stuff done(ie: waxing, nails, toes), pick up Tuxes.
I don't think that is too bad of a list left to do. I'm very much looking forward for all the days to come.
Nita (Shane's stepmom) and I spent about 5 hours on Friday trying to come up just the "perfect" bouquet for me. We had to end up at Hobby Lobby for more flowers also.
Here's the final product....I absolutely love it!!!
Ashley is going into the 6th grade and starting Center for Creative Arts school this Tuesday, the 12th. When your child goes to a magnet school, the parents or guardians have to complete so many volunteer hours. Well, the total to be completed for Ashley is 18 hours.
When I took her to her registration Thursday, they asked for volunteers to help paint their lockers Friday and Saturday. You could come anytime from 9-4 and be able to get 7 volunteer hours. My original plan was to work from 9-3 and get 6 hours. I also signed up for the Cookie Dough delivery day which is another 6 hours. I was trying to help my step-mom since she just had double knee replacement surgery.
I got up this morning and got to the school by 9 and was ready to paint. Let me tell you, I lasted until 12:10...it was sooooooooo hot in that school. Not sure if they aren't allowed to turn the air on until school startes; but I couldn't handle it. I was dripping with sweat.
I got 3 hours and 10 minutes completed and I will definitely do my other 6 hours that I signed up for and then Liz will only have to complete 9 hours.
I think she handle it.....

Just 22 more days until we say, "I do". I never thought this day would come; it's been a long year and I'm so glad it's almost here.
Shane and I went to our first of two pre-marital classes on Weds. It was interesting and I really enjoyed it and I don't think Shane will admit that he enjoyed it too; but I think he really did. We go back on the 20th and will then get our Marriage license with a big discount.
Next week on the 14th, we meet with the preacher and the Wedding planner at the church to go over all the last details of the Wedding. Also, next Sunday, I will be going to the Choo-Choo to have pictures made of me in my dress. I think it will be so pretty in their garden area.
All we have left to do is get our Marriage license, pick up some attendant gifts and we are good to go. Now just to wait........
Oh yea, today, I will be going over to my future mother-in-law's to finish up my bouquets and I start my teeth whitening regiman today...lol
I have a feeling 22 days are going to fly right by.....
This morning, I read this article, Relationship Advice: 10 Ways to Reduce Your Divorce Risk.
Here are their 10 Ways and mine in the parenthesis:
1. Get married after about two years of courtship (Shane and I have been dating for four years, 6 months)
2. Rethink living together (I don't agree with this one. I think living together before marriage has definitely helped...at least to me)
3. Wait until you are a little older to marry (I'm 40, Shane is 34)
4. Talk about the big issues before you get married (We have talked about the biggest issue to us, having children. We already discuss finances on a weekly basis)
5. You can argue, just don't let it turn into World War III (We argued a lot at the beginning of our relationship and we still argue but they are minute arguments and definitely not WW III)
6. Do stuff together (We already do this. We each have our own time to be by ourself or spend time with friends; but we definitely do stuff together on a weekly basis too)
7. Share the chores (This is something we do. Since I work from home; I do the majority of the chores; but he does help with the garbage and dishwasher and he does help with dinner)
8. Be as polite to each other as you are to strangers (This is something I've never thought of; but agree with. I'm going to tell him about this one tonight and see if we can incorporate it into our relationship. Don't get me wrong, we are nice to each other, just not polite as far as please and thank yous all the time)
9. Have issues? Get help! (Everyone has issues but I don't think ours are to the point of needing professional help) hahaha
10. Marry someone who wants to be married (We both want to be married or I wouldn't have said, "Yes" when he proposed)
Of course, each way went into more details in the article; but this was very good information and something to think about when I start my marriage. Or even before.
I have to admit; I love going school shopping, even though I haven't been in school in over 20 years. This is Ashley's first year at a school where she didn't have to wear uniforms and OH BOY!!!
My stepmom, Liz, had double knee replacement surgery so Ashley has been with us for the summer. Liz gave me the money to take Ashley school shopping, so with supply list in hand, off we went.
First we went to Walmart and got all the supplies on her list, some bras and panties and 2 outfits and a shirt.
Next, we are off to the mall. We went to every "hip" store they had from Aeropostale to Abercrombie & Fitch to Gap to American Eagle to Hollister.
When we left the mall; she literally had about 6 or 7 shopping bags. She also got things from Bath & Body and then I got her a backpack from Mori Luggage & Gifts. I didn't know Jansport backpacks had a lifetime warranty. Nice though for a kids' backpack.
On the way home, we stopped at Payless and my mom got her 2 pairs of shoes. She is all ready for school on the 12th and she will be stylin'.
We were gone from noon until around 6:00 pm last night...I am so tired and I'm up this early right now because we are leaving for Lebanon, TN to meet my sister, Donna, and the grandkids for their school shopping. I probably won't be back home until 6:00 pm tonight.
Have a great weekend!!!
