Puerto Rico, Here We Come

Shane and I booked our Honeymoon today. We are going to San Juan, Puerto Rico.

We are going to be staying at the Condada Resort and Casino.

We are staying in the Ocean Vista room and the place is just absolutely beautiful. I can't wait to be there and just enjoy the atmosphere. We'll be leaving that Sunday after the wedding and coming home the next Saturday.

Included in our package is a tour of the Bacardi Rum Distillery. My favorite liquor.....in my favorite drink, Pina Colado.

Don't be too jealous when you check out the resort....I'll be sure to think of you while I'm there..haha

Lindsay = Marilyn ??

In New York magazine this month; they are featuring pictures of Lindsay Lohan in the same pictorial that Marilyn Monroe did 6 weeks before her death.

I'm sorry but Lindsay Lohan is NO Marilyn Monroe. Yes, the poses are the same; but that's where the line stops. I can't believe that of all the actresses in the world, this photographer would have chosen Lindsay.

Lindsay Lohan is not one of my favorite actresses; but even if she looked remotely like Marilyn, I'd be okay with it....BUT SHE DOESN'T!!!

Is it just me or does anyone else feel this way???

Collections

My sister, Donna, lives up in Westmoreland, TN and their phone company was asking for customers to submit photos of things they collect. Donna collects those brass jello molds and she has them hanging in her kitchen. Anytime my mom and I go to a yard sale, we watch for them. Donna sent in her picture of her collection and was chosen to be Ms. February..haha. My mom collects several different things but her big items are Dreamsicles. I collect Mary Moos. Our collections are so big that we don't have room in our houses for anymore. I started collected Mary Moos about 8 years ago and haven't really seen them in the store anymore.

Here's a picture of Donna's collection as Ms. February. The picture doesn't even show all of her molds. She didn't know they were going to use the photo in a calendar.

Dale Jr Wins the Bud Shootout

I used to be a huge Nascar fan; would never miss a race and went to several races a year. Once Dale Earnhardt passed away, racing was never the same for me. I picked up cheering for Dale Jr and still enjoyed racing, it just wasn't the same.

Over the past few years; I've slowly grown away from watching it on tv. In 2008 though, Dale Jr was driving for a new team and I thought I'd give it a shot and really be faithful to it this year.

I watched the Bud Shootout and Dale Jr won with his new Hendrick Motorsport Team.

I will admit I only watched up until about lap 50 (there were only 70 laps) and I fell asleep. I will watch the Big Daytona 500 next weekend though.

Is Nascar back to where it isn't so boring anymore?

4 Year Anniversary

Yesterday was Shane and mine's 4 year Anniversary of dating....We had agreed not to do anything for our Anniversary or Valentine's Day as we are trying to save our money towards our Honeymoon.

Shane had to work yesterday and when he got off, he called me and asked if I was dressed? I, of course, was and he said, "Let's Go!". I'm all for road trips but I wanted to know where we were going. I only like spontanaety when I'm the one doing it. hahaha

We drove and drove and drove until we ended up at Cloudland Canyon State Park. I really enjoyed walking on the top of the Canyon and looking over at the beautiful waterfalls and view. It was absolutely gorgeous.

They have playgrounds up there, cottages, tents, swimming pools, etc. We aren't taking a family vacation this year; but we could spend the weekend up there with the kids and our friends, Don, Mariel and Connor. The rates are really reasonable for the cottages and they sleep 8 people.

We had a really nice Anniversary and I'm thinking of going back up there soon and have thought about getting our Engagement pictures taken up there in front of a Waterfall.

Super Bowl XLII

I've been faithfully watching the Super Bowl and I have to tell you that I'm very disappointed.

Two minutes left and this is where we stand:

I don't like Tom Brady and I don't like the Patriots. If a team got caught cheating in any other sport; would they be able to play in the biggest game of the year? NO...

The Patriots should have never been given the opportunity to play in the Super Bowl.

Can you tell I'm for the Giants? Anyway, it's now 1:28 left and the Giants have the ball and it's 2 and 5.

I'm hoping Eli will pull one out and get a touchdown and the game ends with the Giants winning, 17 - 14...heck, I'd take 16 - 14.

Well, gotta get back to the game and dang it, incomplete pass.....

OMG, Eli just made an incredible pass and it's 1st down with 59 seconds left on the Giants' own 24 yard line......I'm so excited!!!
