40 is FABULOUS

Saturday was my birthday and I turned 40!!! 40 isn't as bad as everyone makes it out to be....I though it was fabulous. Ashley spent the night Friday night and we all woke up between 7:30-8:00 and Shane made us breakfast. I knew something had been planned for me because Shane had bought cokes, etc the other night for something on Saturday.

Around 2:30, me and Mom went running around. Ashley decided to stay home and help Shane with "things". We went by the grave site and changed the flowers out on Sheryl's grave. Even though today was a time of celebration; me and mom had a moment there. It's still hard to think she's gone and it truly breaks my heart to see my mom in so much pain.

We got home around 3:40 and there were cars in the driveway. Walked in the house and Surprise!!! A birthday party...the first one in my adult life. Friends and family were here and we had a great time.

I got some bath and body, money and candles. Shane got me a new digital camera, a case for it, some fly paper(for my fly pentop), and a book of brain teasers. I love my new camera...it's very compact and I just love it. It even has a setting to take blog photos. I really do love it. Later on that evening, Shane and I went to eat at Provinos. It was good food, I love those rolls.

So, if anyone isn't looking forward to 40; just take it from me, it isn't bad at all. Your only as old as your feel and I feel about 30 and to be honest, I don't look 40 at all. Here's a picture with my new camera....Shane and I before we went out.

Keeping You Posted

I haven’t blogged in a while because:

I’ve been too busy
Just really didn’t feel like taking the time to write anything
Family matters

A lot has happened in December and still happening but slowly coming to a close. My sister passed away on Dec. 9th and ever since then, things have just been so busy in my life. My mom decided to help the girls with buying them a car and getting them set to start living on their own. Finding a used car that was dependable wasn’t as easy as we thought it would be. There are some people in the world that think their cars are worth more than they really are. I won’t give any names; however, we went to this used car lot up in Ooltewah and their cars were really junky. I test drive one that the transmission was out of and they “supposedly” didn’t know it. I would be ashamed to sell cars to people like that. While I was there, I heard the guy on the phone with a customer complaining that the car she bought something was wrong with. I just don’t do business like that and therefore, we left and never looked back.

I called this one Used Car Lot (which I would give their name if I could remember it) that bluntly told me on the phone that they don’t sell cars for CASH. That one really took the cake with me. My mom and I had fun with that one all day….at least it made us laugh.

We finally got the girls both a car that we felt was dependable enough for them and felt like we did a great job on them. Ami got a cute little Saturn and Amanda got a really nice Taurus.

Now that we have both of them cars; it’s time to move them.

Splash Valley

I was absolutely thrilled when the East Ridge City Council voted on a new waterpark here in East Ridge.

It will be only about a mile from my house....can you say Season Passes for our family? We will be going all summer long. Logan already said he will be living here all summer then.

I just can't wait for it to be here.....I'm not a big fan of water parks; however, I loved the Wave Pool at Sea World that we went to this past summer. It was so much fun and I know the kids will love it.

I'm so glad East Ridge is getting this...it's such a convenience for a lot of people and will bring in so much revenue for the City.

Way to go, East Ridge for making the right decision!!!!

Elvis, Elvis, Shake Your Pelvis

I'm a huge Elvis fan....I just love him!!! Yes, I'm talking about him as if he is still alive. haha

My neighbors are so lucky..they enter contests all the time and end up winning them; so they won a Chattanooga ticket package worth over $500 and in that were 2 front row seats at the Tivoli to see Eddie Miles. Eddie does a tribute to Elvis and also sings Conway Twitty, George Jones and someone else. Well, I love Conway and George too.

My neighbors couldn't go so they ask me if I wanted the tickets. I said yes and asked Ashley if she wanted to go. She said she did; but not sure if just to be going or to have fun. It's her first concert and I hope she'll enjoy it as much as I will.

Family Vacation

Today, we start our Family Vacation. This afternoon we will be heading for Orlando, FL. Sea World, Disney Blizzard Beach, Gatorland here we come.

We are all excited about our 1st vacation together. All our bags are packed and we are ready to go.

There is one part of the trip that I'm already starting to be sad about...Diesel. Diesel can't go with us and I hate having to leave him. I know he'll be in good hand with his granny; but still, I'm going to miss him.

I hope everyone had a Happy 4th of July and will have a great weekend!!!! I'll have lots of pictures when we come back.

Truck 4 Sale

1989 Chevrolet S-10 lowered, navy blue, V-6 engine. Overall, the truck is decent for running around town and even to go back and forth to work. It has over 200,000 miles, but still runs. It needs minor work but as I said it does run.

We no longer need this truck, since we bought a new one.

We were asking $800 OBO; however, we are desperate to get rid of this and so the price was dropped to $600 OBO.

If you want to know more about the truck, post a comment and I'll give you Shane's cell number or let him answer you back.

Going once!!!!

New Truck

Shane's old truck was just not cutting the mustard any longer. It's still drivable and is a good truck for running around town; but he needed a newer truck. We found him a great deal on a 1995 Dodge Ram 1500. He's champagne color and very nice. Power everything and it even has a remote starter.

He loves it and it made him very happy to be the proud new owner; so I'm happy too.

I also got a new refrigerator that Shane and his dad are planning on hooking up tomorrow. It's stainless steel side-by-side with ice and water in the door. I'm excited about that.

Finally, Two more weeks and we are off for our family vacation to Orlando. We are all very excited about that and Shane and I are ecstatic about having a vacation.

First Snow of 2007

Well, it actually happened. It snowed in Chattanooga!!! I couldn't believe it when I woke up this morning at 5:00 am. So much snow on the ground. I went to take Diesel out and he didn't know what to think about it; but he knew he liked eating it.

Here's some pictures of the snow at my house in East Ridge.

Happy Birthday to Me

Today is my birthday....YEAH!!! I love birthdays. My boss brought me a cake to work and it was so good. I kind of blew my diet today; however, I can still lose weight by Tuesday.

Shane, Mom, Ashley and I went to Amigos for dinner tonight to celebrate. It was good also.

My sister sent me some money, my mom got this me this great Ottoman-Coffee Table. I love it!!! It goes great in my living room. Ashley got me a card and Shane got me a card, vacuumed the house and did the dishes. I was shocked but happily surprised.

Anyway, my birthday will be over in 3 hrs. 18 mins.

Happy Birthday to Me!!

39 and Holding

Friday, the 12th; I will be 39. I don't really mind birthdays because I have never felt my age. The only birthday that has bothered me was my 25th. Don't ask me why?......it just did.

Now when people ask me my age, I can use that old line of "39 and Holding". What exactly am I holding though?

Last night, we went to Sticky Fingers for a pre-birthday dinner and it was quite delicous.

Tomorrow at work, we will have a Goodie Day and there will be cake!!! I love birthday cake.....but I have to eat in moderation as I'm back on my diet. I was off my diet for the Holidays and gained 5 lbs; however, this week I lost 6.2 lbs.

I'll be 39 and trying to get healthy so that when tomorrow comes next year and I turn 40; I'll be in the best shape of my life and loving 40!!!

Time for a New Haircut/style

As anyone who knows me, my HS Reunion is in 4 weeks. I don't do well with new hairstyles because my hair is just plain weird, so I'm getting a new "do" today in order to have 4 weeks to play around with my hair and let it grow out some.

When I was little, I had curly curly hair and of course, once it was cut; I lost the curl but kept the same consistency in my hair. Frizzy with no shape whatsoever. When I was a little older and styles my own hair, it was decent...thick and easy to curl. I couldn't get a perm because it would just kink right up it took the curl so good. Or is that so bad?

Anyway, now that I'm a lot older, my hair is frizzy and thin. I can't do much with it at all and it won't hold a curl anymore. Did hormones do that to my hair?? I've worn it short and long and I like it both ways for various reasons; however, why can't I just settle somewhere down the middle?

I brought home a hairstyle magazine the other day and flipped thru it and got some ideas. I asked Shane if he would look at it and see if there was something he liked that, hoping the style would be something I liked too. When we got up for work yesterday, he told me he had looked thru the book and picked out some styles. He even tried to find short styles that he thought looked good knowing I like a short hairdo.

That impressed me that he took the time to actually look thru the magazine and mark styles he liked.

So, for today, my goal is finding a hairstyle that I like and can live with and can actually style on my own. My appt. is at 6:00 pm, wish me LUCK!!!

Air Show 2005

This weekend was the Air Show 2005. You could go to Boyd Buchanan School and donate $5 and sit there to watch it; which ended up being a GREAT idea.

We got some great pictures of the show. I'll post those later to my Flickr Badge; but here's a shot of The Blue Angels.
