Crutches

Yes, I'm talking about actual crutches and not the kind of crutches in your life. Last night around 7:00 pm, I decided to lay down for just an hour. I was in the middle of washing Shane's work clothes and knew they would be finished by then. I woke up around 9:00 pm and my ankle hurt; so when I went to get up, I could barely walk on it. I didn't do anything to hurt it, so i thought maybe I just slept wrong and it would be better this morning.

I was wrong!! I woke up this morning and my ankle was killing me, I mean that excruciating pain that you just can't stand. I made a 1:30 pm doctor appointment but just couldn't stand to wait. At 9:00 am, I got ready and decided to go to the Walk-in Clinic. They took xrays and nothing, no reason to explain what happened to my ankle. I did get a pain shot, ankle wrapped and on crutches for 4-5 days.

I leave for a business trip on Tuesday; so I'm hoping my ankle will be better by then. It is feeling a little better already though.

Is 2007 Really Almost Over?

Christmas is over; but the decorations are still there as a reminder. I've begun to take down some of my decorations but not the tree yet. I have taken down all the decorations from the kitchen and bathroom and gotten all the decorations down from the walls and all in one spot. Just need to get my boxes down from the attic and put everything away.

Ashley and Logan have been here since Christmas Eve and they both are going home tonight. I love having them here; but I love sending them home too.

I've been off work since the 21st and I haven't worked but only about 30 minutes the entire time. I only answered some emails and that was it. I'm off until the 3rd so I still have time to relax and enjoy the remainder of the year.

I can't believe 2007 is really almost over; the year went by so fast and we lost two very important loved ones. Shane lost his mother earlier this year and then I just lost my sister.

Next year we will have something to celebrate and I'm hoping it will be a GREAT 2008!!

Dieting Yo-yos

I was on Weight Watchers for almost 2 years and lost almost 50 lbs. I got bored with it and quit back in the early part of May and now it's August and even though I hate to admit this; but I have gained back 24 lbs. 24 lbs is ALOT of weight considering that's a size that I gained back. I can still weigh my pants that I had lost down to but they are snug now where they were really loose.

Tuesday, my mom and I started back to Weight Watchers. I know Weight Watchers works and you CAN lose weight on it; it's just not giving up. I have a year and 7 days until my wedding and I need to lose about 50 lbs before the wedding. I know I can do it because I've done it before; it's just actually sticking to it.

I would love to be able to go on my honeymoon and actually be comfortable in my bathing suit on the beach/pool, etc.

Once the weather cools off; I'm going to start walking again. The weather just makes it impossible to walk around the neighborhood.

I have faith that I can do it and it helps to have support from my mom. So, hopefully, you'll start seeing my weight loss numbers start rising again.

Health Update

I went for my ultrasound today and the nurse seems to think everything is fine. She said that it will just take time to heal but everything should be okay. I will feel better once I hear these words from my OB-GYN.

She said it's like a blister on your skin; once it burst, it just takes time to heal. So, I may be in pain; but I think it was great news today!!

Thanks for your prayers and thoughts.

I Do Not Like July

Last July, I had a tubal pregnancy that about killed me....This past Friday night, we went to see Ashley perform at the Colonnade in Fort Oglethorpe. During the performance, I had to use the restroom and once I came back to my seat; I got a sudden pain in my pelvic area.

The pain was the exact same feeling I had last July except I was conscious and didn't feel like I was sick. The pain was excruciating and I probably should have gone to the ER; however, I hate going to the hospital.

Finally on Sunday, I called my doctor's office answering service and left a message to get an appointment ASAP. I saw the doctor today and it wasn't good news. Supposedly, I ovulated and when the follicle burst; blood went back into my ovary. I think that's what the doctor said. All I know is something(follicle/cyst) erupted and blood is in my ovary.

I have an ultrasound appointment tomorrow at 3:00 pm; please pray for me. I get the feeling that God has something in store for me other than motherhood. I don't understand why; but I guess it's not my place to.

Summer Vacation

We have finally planned our summer vacation. Shane, Logan, Ashley and I will be going to Orlando, FL over July 4th.

We've all been to Disney several times, so we are doing different things this year. We are going to Sea World, Blizzard Beach at Disney and then going to a Pirate Dinner Show.

Shane and I have some other things planned that we want to be a surprise for Logan and Ashley so I can't tell you about those since Ashley reads my blog. "Hi Ash"

I can't wait for a vacation and to just have fun with the kids.

Back to One Job

Working 60 hours a week is happening no longer for me!! I was working part-time at the Post Office; which the part-time didn't get me, it was the 5 days a week on top of my primary job.

It would have been a great job if I could have chosen my own hours as in 3 days a week...I would have stayed.

Anyway, Saturday was my last day and I just feel so much better now. I don't feel so tired and wore out. And most importantly, I get to catch up on all my TV shows. Next Monday, the 23rd, is a new episode of Heroes. At least I did catch up on the episodes I missed while working.

I have to admit that the only 2 shows I watch that aren't reality shows is Heroes and Ugly Betty. I love reality shows.

So, now that I'm not working all the time; I have time to play with Diesel in the evenings and just do things around my house. Working part time did get me a new canvas awning on my front porch that I absolutely love.

I, also, hope to start my blog back up and be able to write more than I have been. It's nice to be back.

It Has Been a While

It has been a while since I thought about blogging; so I'm going to do just a brief update and may start back to writing more often.

1. Shane got a GREAT job, yeah!
2. Diesel had surgery to have his dew claw removed. Isn't he precious?

Yes Im Getting Satellite.jpg

3. Just completed my 30 days at my second job; which is gotten a lot easier.
4. My main job has had it's ups and downs this week; but everything turned out okay and I still love it.
5. Had 3 family birthdays this month with Mom's being Weds., the 28th.
6. Planning our family vacation in July to Orlando.
7. Bought some golf clubs so I could start golfing. Went to the driving range today and am sure I'll be sore tomorrow.
8. Started back on my diet this past week and am seriously wanting to lose 30 lbs. by July. 3 months-10 lbs/month.

I think that's about it for now. I'll keep in touch later on this week.

60 Hours/Week

I started a second job 2 weeks ago; so I'm working 60 hours a week. Between this job and my primary job my off days are Friday evening, Saturday morning/afternoon and all day Sunday.

I work from 7-11 M-Th and then Sa. The first night I was not impressed by the work and I guess it was just first night jitters because it's an okay job now. Those are the fastest 4 hours, which makes it even better. It's great money and I think I'll enjoy working there.

It's not a job that you get satisfaction in doing; it's just a data-entry job that pays well. As long as I do well and they keep me; I think I'll stay for a while. (or atleast until I finish fixing up my house and buying some patio furniture and paying for some trips).

Catching Up

I haven't blogged in almost 2 weeks, well, really to think about it, I haven't done much in almost 2 weeks.

I can't seem to get back to my dieting. Not that I'm gorging; but I definitely am not eating right. I did start back yesterday, so I'm hoping I'll have the willpower to be faithful. I don't see how I can't diet though; I really don't have time to eat much. I know that's probably the problem though. I don't have a lot of time to eat, so I'm snacking way more than I ever have in the last year and a half.

I started a new part time job Monday and it's from 6-11 M-Sa. And let me just tell you that it's kicking my butt. You have to pass 40 modules in order to finish training and you have 12 days to finish them in. So far, we just finished our third day and I've finished 31. Once you finish training; you start your normal shift. My normal shift is M-Th and Sa, 7 pm-11pm. I'm off on Friday and Sundays. I'm hoping to finish my last 9 modules tonight so I can be off tomorrow night. I feel like when I do have a day off; I'll sleep it away.

Nothing much else is going on in my life because when would it have time to. I had joined Curves back in December and I just don't have the "want" to do exercise. I know it would probably make me feel better; but my motivation is just not there.

As far as home life; everything is the same...we are all doing well and Diesel is getting so big. If I had to guess, he weighs over 60 lbs. now and is 9 months old.

I will try to write more on here when I get up earlier enough to have time to; but for now, I think I'm caught up.

It's time for the morning shower to wake me up. Or atleast relax me enough to want to go back to bed.

Oh yea, President Bush came to Chattanooga yesterday; but I didn't see a thing.

It's Cold & Sinus Season Again

Every year when the weather changes, I get sick and stay sick for a couple of weeks. It may start off in my throat and then go to my voice then eventually to my nose.

Well, I'm at the nose stage now. I never go to the doctor for it; I usually just let it run it's course; however, I think one thing that would help the nose problem is if I had a humidifier in my bedroom. I have central heat and air and the heat is so dry, it just adds more problems to my nose.

I had a humidifier when I lived at my mom's and I think it helped a little; but it seemed you had to change the filter alot and it was really more trouble than it's worth.

I found a site that compares the different types of humidifiers that was really helpful. It's seems the ultrasonic type is best; less noise, less electricity and no risks of burning.

Visit Humidifier Information for lots of helpful tips and advice if you are looking for a humidifier this Winter season.

So Much To Do in So Little Time

This week is going to be VERY busy. Starting tonight, I have Ashley until Saturday afternoon. Also tonight is Weight Watchers and I have to work my second job until 11. Oh and today, Shane starts his new job!!! (yeah)

Anyway, I start work at 8 until 4:45, rush to WW by 5:15, change clothes, weigh, change clothes again, eat and then be at my second job by 6:00. Work until 11:00, which will probably be 12 because we have to clean the store.

Come home and get Ashley from my mom's, which she'll probably be asleep but she said she is going to stay awake. Have fun, Mom!!!

Then come home and crash. Did I say I was 38 years old and too old for most of this???

As I stated before; I feel young until I have to do so much in so little time, That's when my body starts catching up with my age.

Well, I hope you all have a Great day; I'm going to try to.

PS: I think I may have come within a pound of meeting my goal tonight at WW!! Wish me Luck.

Working from Home

At my primary job; we have the ability to work from home. In my particular job, we can't actually work from home, but we can access our computer at work from home and catch up on emails, finish any projects we may be doing, etc. I help answer the Web emails from clients and while I've been off for the Holidays; I find myself checking the inbox and replying to their questions/problems.

I'm a semi-workaholic and a semi-perfectionist. I just don't like the idea of a client locked out our Web site for a long period of time and since it's the Holidays, they would have to wait 5 days for someone to come in on Monday. I've been checking the inbox and answering what I can and just trying to keep it down so that when my coworkers come in on Monday, they aren't just swamped with work.

Does anyone else have that ability at their employment? If so, do you find yourself working during non-working hours?

PS: And I don't do it because I get paid; because I don't, I just love my job and I enjoy helping people.

Cheaper Insurance

Right now I'm at a point in my life where I'm trying to make ends meet. I did away with my digital cable(extra $50/month) because we really don't watch that much of the channels that digital cable offered.

One time our work offered us a chance to get Free Insurance Quotes for our auto and home insurance. At the time, I didn't have a home; but I did try to see if anyone could beat my current auto insurance.

When a Web site states, "Free Quotes Online", I want it to be literally able to give me a quote as soon as I plug in my information. The questionnaire was easy, but lengthy. Here I sat for about 10 mins. choosing my options and giving all this personal data to get to the end and it say, "Someone will call you with your low quotes". I don't want that. I want a free quote online. Why can't just quotes pop up after you submit your information?

I don't like Web sites that advertise things just to get you on it and then never come thru with what they promise.

Have you had an experience like this? If so, please shared what other Web sites have done this to you.

Dreams

Have you ever had a dream about something that you've dreamt about more than one time? I don't dream often, but when I do I usually dream the same dream over and over. For the longest time, I dreamed about flying all the time. Not flying in an airplane or anything like that; but actually flying myself with my arms.

Then I switched to this dream where I was going down this winding road and you were right on the edge of the mountain. It was a very dangerous road and in my dream, it was the only way to go to get to where I was going. I could picture this road in my head when I was awake as if it was a real road.

Today at work, I received an email with a picture of this road in Bolivia called "The Road of Death". When I opened the email, I was literally blown away. It was the exact same road in my dreams. I've never been to Bolivia nor have I ever seen this road or heard about it. Weird huh?

Here's a couple of pics of it.

Anyone in Need of a Good Dentist and/or Doctor?

I have been pretty lucky when it comes to finding a great family doctor and dentist. I have actually gone to the same dentist office since I was old enough to need to go to the dentist. Both my doctors are great and I wouldn't change for anything. On
Vimo you can search for doctors, dentists, hospitals, etc. and see how they rate up.

Go to the following links and you can check of my two doctors, Dr. Rogers and Dr. Quinn. They are great and I would highly recommend them to anyone in need of a good doctor and/or dentist.

Dr. J. Kirk Rogers is my doctor and he is in the Women's East Center over in East Brainerd.

My dentist is Dr. Quinn down by the UTC Campus.

God Works Wonders

Back in September, Shane got sick and we didn't know what was wrong; so we went to the Emergency Room. Shane has no health insurance, but he was terribly sick and we absolutely had to go.

He ended up with Kidney Stones and ended up passing it later that afternoon and is all better now; however, the hospital, ER, Cat Scan bill for just 5 hours totalled up to be over $5100.

Since Shane got laid off, paying bills is tough; however, I knew I had to make an effort to atleast start paying these hospital charges.

I typed up a letter for Shane stating he had been laid off and he would have to pay $10 a month until he got a job and we could pay more. I mailed the same letter to all 3 places.

Today in the mail, he got a letter from the main office for the hospital stating that a charity discount had been applied to his account and the account was closed now and the bill was discounted.

How wonderful God is to provide for us in our time of need. God is Good!!

Shopping, Thrift Style

I love shopping; every type of shopping including big name stores like Macy*s to Flea Markets to Thrift Stores. I'm good at finding great deals when I shop. There are a few times when I'll find something that is semi-pricey that I just have to have; other times, I'm good with a great find.

Back in the Spring my sister, Donna, and I cleaned out my mom's garage. We kept things that we had stored there that we still wanted and then we boxed up things that we no longer wanted or needed.

We tried to give the boxes to a local thrift store(who shall remain nameless) but they didn't want to take the time to go thru the boxes for the things they thought could make money.

We ended up taking it to a Charity Thrift store, Donation Pickup, Car Donations place that was glad to accept them. I think it's great if you can donate things to Charity, especially if you don't need them anymore.

Even though I don't live in the Houston area, The Houston Charity Center sounds like a thrift store we have in Chattanooga. They even have auctions where you can buy a wholesale lot at a great price.

If you can, donate to your local charity; it will help someone else and make you feel good.

Weekend in Kentucky

This weekend was alot of fun in Kentucky. Friday was freezing at the races, but it was fun. My throat is a little sore from yelling so much. We really didn't lose much money, but it's so much fun.

Saturday morning, we went shopping and went to Macy's in Lexington. I got a new pair of brown boots for the winter. That afternoon, back at the hotel, we had a little tailgating party for the Tennessee vs Alabama game. Go VOLS!!!!

That evening, we drove to Renfro Valley for a show and dinner. Overall, it was a nice evening. The trees are changing colors and the drive was absolutely beautiful.

This morning we got up and came home and stopped at the Sweetwater Flea Market on the way for some last minute shopping. I'm glad to be home because I missed Shane and of course, Diesel.

There's no place like home.

Another Funeral

This year has been filled with bad events happening either directly or indirectly to my family.

We've had several deaths in the family and then I had a miscarriage.

Yesterday I learned that a good friend of mine's mother passed away Monday evening. Tonight, I'm going to the funeral home and then the funeral is tomorrow.

Please keep everyone in your prayers during this hard time for Rhonda and her family.

I sure hope 2007 is a better year for me, my family and friends.

Under the Weather

This morning when I woke up; I had a terrible headache. It was hurting at the base of my skull and just not a good thing. I didn't go to work, so I'm home today. I'm hoping I can get some rest too.

This weekend was busy. We had Ashley over from Friday until Saturday evening and then we had Logan Saturday afternoon until Sunday afternoon; then we had to meet his mother, which is a hour and a half away, so that wears me out.

Then there is Diesel. I'm constantly playing with him and making sure he goes out when he needs to.

Today is just going to be a relaxing day. No cleaning, no washing clothes, no nothing. Just relaxing on the couch.

New Office Chair

Our computer chair broke. One the wheels broke right off; thus making it worthless. The chair was 3 years old; but the base was plastic and Shane and I are both plump people so we probably should have bought one that was a little more sturdy.

I really don't use it that much; but Shane lives in it when he can (which is most of the time).

Luckily, Shane had his old computer chair and so we didn't have to just run right out and buy one.

For furture purchase though; I went in search of a nice leather sturdy chair that wouldn't cost me an arm and a leg.

On Mayline Furniture, they have reasonably priced computer chairs, office furniture, school furniture, etc.

I found this chair that would perfect and it's on sale for only $99. The regular price is $499, so I think that is a great deal.

Hopefully when I can afford to get another chair, this one will still be available.

On a similair note; my job is building us a new complex and I can't wait to see how our cubicles will be designed and see our new office furniture. Of course, it will be a couple of years before we move to our new complex; but I'm sure everything will just be beautiful and comfortable for all the employees.

I WON!!!

One of my coworkers, Alli, had a contest on her blog and I WON!!!!

Of course, it was kind of easy to win. She posts pictures daily of her son, Fuller. Everytime you commented, you were entered into this drawing for a $25 gift card. Well Fuller is just so dang cute, it's hard not to comment.

I had a 77% of winning and I did!!

Now if I could just have those odds next weekend at the horse races.

Toss Me a Life Preserver, I'm Drowning

Have you ever felt like you were drowning in life? That's how my life is right now; I just feel like I'm drowning and no matter what I do, I keep going deeper.

Yes, part of it is my fault and I feel like I have noone to turn to. I've always been a very independent person and hate asking for help nor have I ever really had to.

And yes, I do live above my means at times; so again, it's my own fault.

Today, Shane got laid off. This just push me further under and now I feel like there is no life preserver that can or will save me.

Please pray for Shane and me that he will get a new job soon. And please pray that someone tosses me that life preserver I so desperately need.

Planning for Summer Vacation

This year, I didn't have 1 single vacation. Meaning, Shane and I didn't go anywhere. My mom and I haven't gone anywhere. Ashley and I haven't gone anywhere. Nothing, ZIP, Nada. That isn't like me at all, I always go on a vacation every year.

I have already told Shane that when we get our taxes back next year, the first thing we are doing is booking us a vacation for next Summer. Shane, Ashley and I have all been to Disney World a hundred times; however, Logan hasn't been at all.

So, we aren't going to Disney World; but we are going to Universal Studios. We will have our Florida Holiday just not Disney World in 2007.

We will eventually go to Disney World so that Logan can go, it just won't be next summer. I know the kids will have a blast at Universal, so I'm so excited.

What type of vacation do you have planned for next year, if any?

My Home's Security

Several years ago, my mother got an ADT Home Security System. I think it's a great system.

If her phone line is out or say someone cuts your phone line, it lets you know that your phone line is out.

Anytime the alarm goes off, it automatically calls ADT and then they in turn call the Fire Dept. and/or Police Dept.

One time, she didn't close her door all the way when she left, but turned on the alarm. Within 5-10 mins. a policeman was there to make sure everything was okay. He even told her that it stated her front door was open. It's really great to have home security that will let you know exactly what is going on with your home.

I have thought about getting a system like that; but just haven't been able to afford it yet.

I should add that to My "Wishful Thinking" Home Improvement list.

Posted by tennbrat at 08:43 AM | Comments (0) | TrackBack

My "Wishful Thinking" Home Improvement

When I bought my house there really wasn't any remodeling that needed to be done; however, there was plenty of "wishful thinking"home improvement.

I really love these bamboo countertops. This site has great ideas that you wouldn't normally think of.

Here's just a list of what I would "love" to have done and some of the things on the list aren't undoable; just can't be done right now.

1) New Windows
2) Swimming Pool
3) Totally Remodel Kitchen (even though I just repainted my kitchen; I would still like to remodel it)
4) Landscaping
5) Paint some rooms in my house a bold color.

So, see there really isn't that much to do, it's just finding the time and money to get it accomplished.

Number 5 is probably the only one that will be marked off my list within the next year. Possible number 2.

My Home's 3 Year Anniversay

Buying a house can be a very stressful event in a person's life. You have to worry about if you can afford it, is it in the right area, is it in good condition or how much remodeling do I have to do? So many things factor into making this decision.

With all those factors; I decided to buy a house. I bought my house 3 years ago coming this November. I did a ton of research before buying my house as far as the interest rate and how closing costs worked and any advantage for first time buyers.

I suggest that anyone research thoroughly before jumping into buying a house. There are web sites that give you all the information you need, for example, mortgage brokers. They provide you with a mortgage calculator and have a great knowledge base.

You'll find:

Mortgages 101
Understanding Home Equity Loans
Home Equity Line of Credit
Leveraging Home Equity for Debt Consolidation
The Mortgage Refinancing Boom

It explains about Fixed Interest Rate vs. Adjustable Mortgage Rate. I think everyone should read this.

At lot of people don't understand the difference and they do a great job of explaining this.

Other services they provide is to Find a Broker or fill out a Quick Application. I totally recommend this site for the homebuyer needing advise.

Fleas Beware

I don't own a pet; however, my backyard has fleas.

I only have 1 neighbor that has a dog and I'm guessing his dog is letting his fleas run wild in my yard.

Ever since I was a child, insects have always just instantly latched onto me and bit me. So, anytime we go in the backyard, I try to remember to spray insect rebellant on us. However, sometimes I forget.

On day, someone must have carried a flea into my car because on a trip, I got bit about 10 times on my calves.

Since I don't own a pet nor have I really ever; I wanted to research how to get rid of fleas in your yard. On FleasControl.com, they have basic information about fleas, ways to kill them and flea control products.

Many plants have natural pesticides as a defense mechanism, and there are a few that you can use to keep your yard and garden flea-free.

Such as Lavendar, Mint and Eucalyptus. I don't really like the smell of Eucalyptus, so I may try planting some Lavendar. It smells nice and is pretty to your garden or yard.

I'm ALL Set

Last night I got my haircut....I really like it. Not too short; but manageable.

I finally got my dress yesterday too. It is beautiful. It fits really well except in the breast area. I'll need to have the top part taken in; anyone know a great seamstress in the Nooga area?

Just 1 more thing to do before the reunion and we are GOOD TO GO!!

DR Appt #2

Today I had my last follow-up visit from my surgery. I'm fine and cleared to go back to work Monday.

To be honest, I'm ready to go back to work. I'm a worker and I don't like sitting at home even if I sometimes run errands; I enjoy work.

I found out that I was about 6-7 weeks pregnant when my tube erupted. I should be able to get pregnant again and I will try again...later on.

Kind of scared about what if it happens again? If it happened again, that would be my last chance to have a child. So, I'll be very cautious this time and definitely watch for signs.

I think the whole process of having a baby is so amazing; I just hope one day soon that I'll be able to experience it.

DR Appt #1

Today I went and saw my family doctor for my 6 months check-up. I was hoping I had lost enough weight to stop taking my blood pressure medicine (BPM). Well, I haven't taken my BPM since I had my surgery. My BP has been 120/73, 140/80 and today it was 112/82. The doctor was very proud of me for my weight loss and that my blood pressure was under control. No more BPM!!! Not only is that a good thing for my health; but a good thing for my bank account also. Saves me $280/year.

I still take medicine for my cholesterol; however, that's my next goal.

I have my final check-up with my ob/gyn Wednesday and then it's back to work Monday. Wish me luck.

Late Spring Cleaning

Sometimes I get in these moods to just clean. Well, last night was one of those. I cleaned out 1 of my closets and ended up with 4 bags of clothes to pass on to someone else.

1 bag for my sister, Donna
1 bag for my niece, Amanda

and then 1 bag for a girl at work's daughter. She had asked me if I ever go thru my clothes to let her know and she'd buy them. I gave her an awesome deal, just $1.50/piece.

So, I had enough clothes that I never wear for 3 people. Even though I got paid for 1 bag, I still did my good deed for the day.

1 down, 1 to go.

Well, I'm finally getting around to showing you my new deck that my nephew Jason built.

It's so nice, now just to save for table and chairs.

Remodeling

I've been wanting a deck built on the back of my house; well, my nephew called me Friday and asked if this would be a good weekend? I said, "Sure".

So, as I type, Jason is outside starting on my deck. I can't wait!!

I'll post a final picture after it's built.

By the way, his girlfriend is with him and 9 months pregnant. She was due Friday, the 7th. Wouldn't it be great if she were to have the baby while they were here? I think it would be, not so sure what she thinks though.

Anyway, I'll keep you posted.

Project Deck

The next and hopefully final project on my house that I won't to complete this year is to have a deck built.

I've been toying back and forth if I want an actual deck or just have a concrete patio poured and put up a gazebo.

A couple of weeks ago, Bi-lo, had a sidewalk summer sale. They had this beautiful gazebo for $129.99. With the sale, you got 10% off of it; so I decided I wanted it and I would have a patio poured. Well, the only one Bi-lo had left was the display one and it was sold. I was so disappointed. I went home and called every Bi-lo in Chattanooga and noone had one. They didn't seem to think they would get any either.

I got over not getting one(eventually) and just decided to have a deck built.

How about Saturday, I went into Bi-lo and I saw one standing there. I spoke with the Manager and he said that it was for sale and he had a great deal for me-50% off!!!

I was so excited, I ran home and got Shane and his truck and we bought it. Well, actually, my "wonderful" mother bought it for me.

I really love it. It's really nice and pretty. I'm going to still have a deck built, but then we are going to put it on the deck. Here is how it looks right now in my backyard though.

Lovely, isn't it? I love it!!

I need a new routine

I have been going to the gym for the past 7 months and I need a new routine.

Me and Zona, my workout partner, do the same thing every Monday and Weds, sometimes Thursdays.

We do the back of our arms(that wave to you) with weights, next we do our leg pushes. Then we do our arms again, but it's a different arm area with weights this time. Then we do our abs-2 different styles. One where we bend over front ways with weights and then we do crunches. We sometimes do our calves and sometimes do the eplitical machine for about 5 minutes because we can't handle it.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to change our routine? If so, please let me know. Thanks in advance.

Lake Winnie-Cancelled, Robbery-Succeeded

Yesterday, Ashley and I were to go to Lake Winnie with the other 3rd and 4th graders from Grace Baptist Academy. At around 9:40, the principal cancelled the trip due to the forecast.

It really disappointed the kids; but the parents were wondering why it got cancelled. The sun was shining and we all knew the forecasters aren't THAT predictable. Anyway, it did shower for about 30 mins; but it wasn't a thunderstorm like they predicted.

As I'm in the school waiting for the final decision; I didn't take my cellphone inside. After they cancelled, when I got to my car; I had missed 9 phone calls.

I had 4 voicemails. 3 were from Shane hysterically upset wondering why he couldn't get a hold of me.

When I finally reached him, he said that he had been hit over the back of the head and his money was stolen. He just got his 1st full paycheck and had it cashed.

He said his head hurt, but the police were on their way.

When I got home; yes, home, it happened in our garage. Shane was fine; just a sore neck and a headache; but he was really upset about this.

Now Shane is a physical big boy and I'm always saying how he protects me and I'm not scared with him around at all. I know he would take care of me if anyone tried anything.

He said he had just pulled into our garage and was getting his stuff out of his truck, he was at the bed of the truck messing with his things, wallet in hand. All of a sudden, someone hit him in the back of the head. He said he went down on his knees and just barely saw someone running away from the scene and then passed out. He was out for about 10-15 mins.

All is well now; except the loss of his paycheck.

I really don't understand how someone can hurt a person for their money that they worked hard for. If you need money for things that you want; then I suggest you go out and work like the rest of the world does. If you need money for drugs and are that desperate, then I suggest you go get help.

Drugs make people do things that any right person wouldn't think of doing. If you choose to do drugs, then ruin your own life and not everyone else's.

Spring Yard

It's that time of the year when I usually plant my pretty flowers all over my yard and in my flower pots.

So, this past weekend, I decided to do it. However, my mom was out of town. The minute she came home Sunday, I was ready to go plant/flower shopping.

We bought a ton of flowers to plant.

I love Gardening; however, I hate getting my hands dirty. My mom did a GREAT job planting them. I did help her, I meant I got all the plants ready for her to put in the hole once she dug them.

Anywho...my yard looks great and that makes me feel happy.

Thanks Mom, you're the BEST!!!!

Renovating my Kitchen

When I bought my house there wasn’t much remodeling that needed to be done. I had the panel painted throughout the house and had carpet put down and that was it. All the wallpaper in both bathrooms and the kitchen was actually nice, so I kept it all up.

I did want to eventually remodel my kitchen. It’s not that it’s that small; there is just NO cabinet space. So, here I was, on a mission. Shane’s uncle said he would do everything to include painting, new floor, new cabinets, new sink & faucets, new countertops for really decent price for me.

Then my Blazer caught on fire and I had to buy a new car. This put a delay on a new kitchen.

Well, I decided to just paint my cabinets a new color and later on replace my kitchen floor. I still won’t have a lot of cabinet space; but it’ll work for now.

This weekend, I started painting my cabinets and went to Home Depot and bought new cabinet handles. It looks really cute so far, I can’t wait until they are finished.

Hopefully by tomorrow or Weds., I will have pictures of my semi-new kitchen!!!

New Car

Okay this entry is a little late; but I got a new car. Actually, it's a SUV and most people call them trucks; but I call them a car in general.

I got it Monday and it is really nice and I love it!!! I'm glad I didn't go bigger because this one barely fits in my garage. I bought a 2005 Trailblazer. It's dark gray metallic and is really pretty.

My insurance company gave me a great price for my burnt blazer and the car dealer gave me a great deal with awesome financing. In the end, everything turned out really well for me. This time, my prayers were answered. (I prayed the night before about it).

Anywho, here is a picture of what my car looks likes.

Could February Please END!!!???

Today was my last day at my old job. Monday morning was going to be great with starting my new position and I was so excited!!!

I got up really early today in order to get to work by 6:30 so that I could leave at 3:00.

I left my house and proceeded to drive to Eastgate. ETA = 15 mins.

I get to work; pull in beside this very nice Chrysler 300 (one of my fav cars) and turn off the ignition. That's when it happened!!!

All of a sudden there is smoke coming out from my hood. I grabbed my purse and keys, jump out and run as far as I can from my car. I think I ran far enough away that if it exploded, I'd be safe. I call Shane and tell him my car is smoking and he thinks it could be the radiator. I stand outside about 5 mins and the smoke slowly goes down to just a minimal view of it.

I advised our guard what is going on in case someone came in saying my car was smoking. Shane was going to come look at it once he got dressed.

I went to my desk and clocked in; next thing I know someone is running to my desk saying, "Sabrina, your car is on FIRE!!!" I called 911 but someone had already called them and the fire dept. was on their way.

I quickly went outside and my car was indeed on fire. Engulfed in flames, burning and I could do nothing. I called Shane again and told him my car was on fire. He got there in about 5 mins. Luckily, none of the cars around my car was damaged. One of the cars had soot on it; but the woman seemed to think she could wash it off. Even though it wasn't my fault; I still felt bad about it.

We don't know the cause of the fire yet; however, I will meet with my insurance adjuster Monday and he will assess the damage(which it is totalled) and give me a check so I can purchase a new car. Of course, the check won't pay for the entire car..lol Below are a few pictures of my Blazer.

I FOUND IT!!!

When I got to work Friday; I had gotten up from my seat to do something and when I walked back to my desk, there it was!! My wallet. It was in the curve of my chair in this hole where the back and seat of my chair meet.

I was so relieved to find out; however, I felt so stupid. Sometimes, I think I really am a blonde.

PS: no offense to any blondes, it's just a saying

I LOST IT!!!!

Today at break, a coworker and I went to Goody's to do a little shopping. Well, since Goody's is only 1/2 block from my job, I only carried my wallet and not my actual purse.

I picked up some things for my mom, a baby shower gift for work and a couple of things for myself. I got to the register to pay and paid with my credit card, put the credit card back into my wallet, took the receipt, put it in the bag, grabbed the bag and left the store.

Got back to work and was getting ready to leave and my purse felt light. Looked and my wallet wasn't there. Looked in my drawers and no wallet. Looked in my Goody's bag, no wallet.

I start to panick here....I called Goody's and they hadn't had anyone turn in a wallet.

Luckily, I had only a $1 in my wallet; but I did have my checks, check card and 1 credit card. Of course, pictures, license and membership cards to various places. I called my bank and they cancelled my check card and stopped my checks. Also, called the credit card company and they cancelled my credit card. When I spoke to the bank and credit card company, nothing had been charged on my bank card or credit card; so that was a plus.

I went back to Goody's and looked all over the register area for my wallet and found nothing. They took my name and number in case anything turns up.

I've played this over and over in my head and I know without a shadow of a doubt that I left my wallet at Goody's. I remember when I walked to my friend's truck, I was only carrying my bag. Even when I went into work and had to scan my badge; I was still only carrying my bag.

Anyway, I've ordered me a new driver's license and hopefully I will get my wallet back. I don't care if they took everything, but I want my pictures back. Most of the pictures I can replace; but I had a picture of my dad when he was in the Navy in it.

I didn't even get to enjoy getting my job because of this. Hopefully, the weekend will be better.

East Ridge Christmas Parade

Tonight was the ER Christmas Parade. I had taken my car down to Blockbusters so that we would have a guaranted place to sit. It started at 6:30, so around 6:00 we walked down to the car. We got all settled and the Parade was starting.

At every beginning of the Parade, the policemen come thru on their motorcycles. There were policemen from almost every city. City of Red Bank, ER and then the City of Chattanooga. They were right in front of us and then they stopped at the intersection; all of a sudden, the fire truck came speeding by and I thought, "why are they speeding when the policemen are stopped?". After looking to see what was going on, one of the policemen had fallen off his motorcycle and was laying on the ground, NOT moving!!!

Someone was walking down the road asking if anyone had any aspirin; so it was apparent, he had a heart attack. They started doing CPR and the ambulance finally came. After about 15 mins of doing CPR, we found out that he had a mild heart attack and they finally got him breathing.

What a way to start a Christmas Parade. I'm thankful that he is okay as far as I know. I hope all goes well for him and will be thinking of him and his family this holiday season.

Lingerie Party

My team leader in my department at work invited a bunch of us "ladies" to a lingerie party. It was hosted by Petra Fashions.

Zona and I went to the party and I really wasn't sure how it would be; however, it turned out to be a lot of fun. You had to pick something for the person to the right of you to wear that you wouldn't think they would pick out for theirself. I had to pick something out for Zona and this is what I chose.

Anyway, then we had to model an outfit and I'm usually shy about those things, but we had a lot of fun and everyone modeled an outfit and noone thought twice about it.

Shane even bought me something; but I can't show what that was...lol

Let's just say it wasn't conservative.

Bartender

I was asked at work if I wanted to volunteer for the Southern Brewer's Festival on September 10th from 6 pm-11 pm down at the Riverfront. I said, "Sure" and even volunteered my friend, Cindy.

I then informed her that she was going with me to serve beer that day and gave her the time. She was more than happy to do this as she hardly ever gets to go out with just the girls.

So, off Cindy and I go be "Beer Girls". We got downtown early enough to find a parking and walk to where we needed to go. Lucky enough, we found a parking a block from where it was set up.

There were 20 different Brewer's Booths set up. We walked down and looked at the various names of types of Beers and chose the cutest sounding one to work at.

We ended up working for Moon River Brewing from Savannah, GA. They had 2 different types of Beer. One light and one dark beer.

The light beer sold like crazy. It was called Wild Wacky Wit-Our wit (white) beer is an old style Belgian wheat-ale, spiced with Curacao bitter orange peel and coriander. Light and exotic... A party in your mouth!(1)

The dark beer wasn't as big of a hit as Wacky Wit. The dark beer was called Swamp Fox-(IPA)India Pale Ale-Like its namesake, this strong ale is known for the sneak attack. Hop-heads will enjoy its assertive bitterness and huge floral, dry hop aroma.(2)

We meet ALOT of different types of people. Some were very special(and I don't mean dear to my heart). It's amazing how some people get so drunk they actually don't know what they are doing.

Now, I'm not a beer drinker at all; so I'm sure you are wondering, why Volunteer at something you don't like. It was for a very good cause. Make-A-Wish Foundation. They help alot of children and children are something that are dear to my heart.

We have a ton of fun; however, when I got home my feet hurt soooooo bad. My one big toe still hurts. But I'm thinking about volunteering up in Knoxville come October for Octoberfest.

PS: Cindy doesn't know yet!!!

Fall Wreath

I'm a semi-creative person. I try to make my own flower arrangements and anything else that I can make myself and not have to spend a fortune on in the store.

My next project was to make a wreath for my front door for the fall. I bought all my supplies on the way to my sisters a few weekends ago and I decided to make it today, Labor Day.

I started cleaning my house Sunday and finished it today. My house is never "really" dirty at all. But it did need dusting and vacumming. Shane helped me with the dusting and vacumming and he even fixed one of my ceiling fans that the switch to the light had broke.

So, with my house cleaned and laundry going; I decided to start my wreath. Here is the picture of the finished product.

Tomorrow, Shane and I are replacing the master bathroom floor.

Guess What I See?

You know sometimes how you can look at something and find a picture in that some thing. For example, you look at the clouds and see a ship, heart, animal, etc. If you can look at something and find a picture within this some thing; then you have a VIVID IMAGINATION.

My mom can do this really well, so she can't play my game. Below is a picture of my bathroom floor. The first time I noticed the picture, it immediately jumped out at me.

Guess.JPG

Do you see what I'm seeing? Please let me know what you think you see and tomorrow I will reveal the answer. Maybe someone will see something I haven't noticed yet.
