I've been faithfully watching the Super Bowl and I have to tell you that I'm very disappointed.
Two minutes left and this is where we stand:

I don't like Tom Brady and I don't like the Patriots. If a team got caught cheating in any other sport; would they be able to play in the biggest game of the year? NO...
The Patriots should have never been given the opportunity to play in the Super Bowl.
Can you tell I'm for the Giants? Anyway, it's now 1:28 left and the Giants have the ball and it's 2 and 5.
I'm hoping Eli will pull one out and get a touchdown and the game ends with the Giants winning, 17 - 14...heck, I'd take 16 - 14.
Well, gotta get back to the game and dang it, incomplete pass.....
OMG, Eli just made an incredible pass and it's 1st down with 59 seconds left on the Giants' own 24 yard line......I'm so excited!!!
Shane and I went to the FL/GA game in Jacksonville this past weekend. Shane is a huge GATOR fan and I've been semi-converted. I said I would root for FL except when they play TN.
We got down to Jacksonville around 4:30 Friday afternoon and just rested and then went to the "Biggest Cocktail Party in the World" down at Jacksonville Landing. It was a huge party with FL and GA fans everywhere. We had a lot of fun and was really excited about the game Saturday.
Saturday we got up, ate Breakfast and went to the Convention Center to catch the shuttle for the game. We got to Alltel Stadium around 12:30 and walked around to the various booths until the gates opened at 1:30. We found our seats, which ended up right in the middle of the Georgia Student Section. I had told Shane beforehand that we would not be getting into any fights and we were there to have a good time and enjoy watching the Gators play.
Well, first thing this row of GA students started coming in and they immediately say us and started the trash talk. Now, I don't mind trash talking when it's all in fun; but they took it way too far. Saying how we were trailer trash and just being punk a** little kids.
This one kid kept shoving his pom-pom in my face and then the girl behind us kept putting her hand in our souvenir bag like she was trying to steal my FL sign I had made. I was really mad about how they were acting.
Then to top it all off; one guy in front of us, pumped his fist up in my face and I thought Shane was going to toss him from the stands. We had fun being able to be there and support the Gators; however, the Georgia students really made parts of it bad for us.
Even though FL lost, after the game, the GA fans were shaking our hands saying, "Good Game".
For free tickets; we had a BLAST....but next year, I think we'll try to get tickets in our own team's seats!!!
Today at 1:15 pm, Dale Jr announced he would drive the number 88 car. They say everyone saw it coming; however, I didn't have a clue. The 88 car used to be driven by another Dale, Dale Jarrett. Never thought that would be Dale Jr's new number though.
The new motto is his new number is twice as good as his old one, 8. The number is fine with me because it's still 8; however, the themes I just don't like. Green Amp Energy drink car theme and then a Blue National Guard theme. The National Guard car is okay but that green Amp car is hideous.
I'm still torn about how I feel about the whole situation of Dale leaving DEI and driving for Hendricks Motorsport. I understand why he wanted to leave his father's company(not his stepmother's, regardless of what she thinks); however, Hendricks? This is the home of the most "unliked" driver of all, Jeff Gordon. I still can't get over the idea that I would have to cheer for someone I love so much and him be a teammate of someone I can't stand.
I haven't really watched Nascar faithfully since Dale Sr's death and I don't know that I can again.
This morning at 11:00 am, Dale Jr had a major announcement about the team he would drive for in 2008. Of all the teams that wanted Jr, he went with the one team I can't stand. Hendrick Motorsport is the owner of Jimmie Johnson and Jeff Gordon. The two most hated drivers in Nascar.
I've been watching racing since I was about 19 years old and have always followed an Earnhardt. I started with Dale Sr and then once Jr went to Winston Cup; I've always been a fan.
My first thought this morning was that I was going to switch drivers. I just can't see myself rooting for a Hendrick driver. I still have 8 months to take it all in and I have a feeling there is a lot of #8 fans that are thinking the same thing I am.
Well, I didn't blog about the actual Colts vs Patriots game; but wasn't it a GREAT game?
Peyton was throwing good just noone was catching it. At the end where the ball was intercepted and the Colts player just laid down on the ground was priceless. I would love to go to a Colts game just to see Peyton live. I never got to see him live while he was with the Vols.
Anyway, great game and I'm sure it's going to be a great Super Bowl come Feb. 4th.
Of course, I'm rooting for the Colts; who are you wanting to win?
Ok, we just began the 2nd half of the Big game between the Chicago Bears and the New Orleans Saints....The score is now 16-14, Bears have the lead.
I'm not really a big fan of either team; but I want the Bears to win. The game I'll be glued to is tonight. Colts vs Patriots. I really like Peyton Manning so I'll be pulling for them.
I'm hoping they will go to the Super Bowl and then take the title. Actually, the game comes on in about an hour and half now. (didn't realize it was that late already....time flies when you go to Wal-Mart).
Anyway......good luck to everyone who is wanting their team to win. I'm hoping Peyton does well tonight.
When I got to work yesterday morning, we had an email stating the update on our little Football Parlay.
I was in a 3-way tie for 2nd place and the guy that was in 1st place had it in the bag. At the time of the update, there were 5 games left and everyone had picked the exact same teams so he won; not me.
I was proud that I did good though...I mean 2nd place is good, right?
Well, I will continue to watch the last 3 games to be played; especially the big one....Florida vs Ohio State.
Note: I did win LSU last night, so my record is 20-9. Pretty good for a girl.
At my work; the guys get together each year and do a Bowl games parlay. Well, this is my first year with this department and I asked, "Why didn't you ask any of the girls if they want to play?" They didn't think anyone would be interested. Well, I was. There are a total of 32 Bowl games. I brought my sheet home and Shane helped pick the "winning teams".
My boss sent out an updated email and showed where you were at and who was winning after 8 games. Well, guess what? I was tied for first with this guy. Now there are only 3 games left and today will be my first day at work since this all started and I'm anxious to see where I fall now. My record is 19-9. Pretty good for a girl.
The remaining schedule is Saturday, W. Michigan plays Cincinnati, then Sunday, it's Ohio and Southern Miss; but the big game that Shane and I are looking so forward to is
vs
.
I'm hoping by the time this is all over with; my record will be 22-9 and I will win this. How great would it be to have bragging rights over about 6-10 men that you work with?
I'd love it!!!
I am a Tennessee Vols fan; however, Shane is a huge Florida Gators fan. When it came down to the last 2 games of the season, I was for the Gators since the Vols didn't have a chance at the SEC Title or the National Championship.
I like football and am pretty good about picking teams so when USC and UCLA played, I told Shane that UCLA would win and then Florida would beat Arkansas and Florida would end up playing Ohio State for the Championship. He didn't believe any of it. He never thought the BCS would rank Florida #2 and they would play against Ohio State.
We were at Amigos when the games were going on and could barely eat for trying to watch the last 10 mins of the USC vs UCLA game and then the Florida vs Arkansas game.
Anyway, Florida is playing against Ohio State for the Championship and I'll be rooting for them and hoping they will win for Shane.
I'm still a Tennessee Vols fan; it's just kind of like you are for Tennessee and whoever is playing Bama. Well, I'm for Tennessee and Florida as long as they aren't playing each other.
This weekend the Boys of Nascar are racing at Texas Motor Speedway. After this race, there is only 2 races left in the Chase for the Cup.
So far, Dale Jr is in 4th place for the Championship and I'm hoping he'll be able to finish well these next 3 races and win the Cup.
Right now there are 15 laps to go and everyone is pitting. Dale Jr is in 21st but that because the fields is pitting. Meaning they are getting gas and new tires, if needed; so the field circles around and Dale Jr will be back in the top 10 before the pit stops are finished.
He was in 7th place before the pit stops, so he has a great chance at finishing in the top 5 or winning.
GO DALE!!!!!
UPDATE: Tony Stewart wins race, Dale Jr finishes 6th.
I love racing....mainly Nascar racing; but I enjoy all types. There is a new show on SpeedTv called "Pinks". What is comes down to is you loose your race, you loose your car. Pinks is another word for the title of your car. It's a cool show but I get so into it because after each race, the two people try to agree upon the next race and who to give the advantage to. I don't agree with this, I think you should race and whoever looses, looses the car.
There are a lot of cool Drag Racing Clips. There is going to be an all day marathon of PINKS followed by premiere of PINKS All Out on Speedtv on Nov 23rd. I'll have to make sure we watch that.

I like Muscle Cars even though I don't have one. Dale Jr did a Wrangler commercial in a muscle car...like James Dean.
Shane used to have a 1968 Red and White Camaro. It was really nice and if he still had it, I'd be driving it.
Speedtv is hosting a Muscle Car Marathon that will air Nov. 24 at 9 am EST.

There are only 4 races left to the Chase, the Big Championship in Nascar. Dale Jr is in 6th place and I'm hoping he can pull it off and win his first Championship.
This weekend they race in Atlanta. I've been to the Atlanta race once and it got rained out and I couldn't go back that Monday due to work.
I haven't been to a single race this entire season. That is going to be one of my New Year's Resolution to go to atleast one Nascar race in 2007.
Charlotte, NC is my favorite track and I love going up there for the weekend. It's so much fun to go to the different race shops. Some of these race teams are empires and their race shop are amazing. DEI (Dale Earnhardt Inc) is grand. They call it the Tagarage Mahal. Plus it helps that Dale Jr lives across the street from it.
This weekend, my mom and I are going to Lexington, KY for the horse races.
I could be a complusive gambler; but due to the lack of funds, I'm not. I will make small bets and hope I win something. I've been to the horse races one other time down in Alabama; but that's been years and years ago.
Whether I win or not, it will be a nice little vacation away from Chattanooga. I'm sure I'll have a great time relaxing and just having fun with my mom.
This weekend is the BIG game in Tennessee. It's the Tennessee Vols vs the Alabama Crimson Tide. I'll be out of town this weekend and I doubt that I'll be able to actually watch the game, but I will be rooting for the Vols.
The Vols have only lost 1 game this season to the Florida Gators, so I'm hoping they beat the snot out of Bama.
I have 2 other teams I root for besides Tennessee. The Gators, if they aren't playing Tennessee and anyone playing Bama. I can't stand Alabama and like I said, I hope the Vols beat 'em so bad they won't know what hit 'em.

Like I said before, I've followed Nascar for about 20 years now.
I watch it occasionally when it's on; but I always keep up with it online. There is only 5 races left in the Chase for the Cup; so I'm definitely keeping up with where Dale Jr is.
I ran across this NASCAR Forum where people are listing reasons why they are Dale Jr fans. Well, here's mine:
1. I am not a Junior fan because of his father, I started rooting for him before Sr passed away.
2. I own my own house and it's not on wheels.
3. I have a AS in Information Systems. I'm not the most intelligent person on Earth, but I'm far from dumb.
4. I don't know anyone named Bubba.
5. I do not go cow tippin'.
6. I am not a redneck, but I do know plenty of them.
7. There are no cars, car parts, flamingos, couches, arm chairs, or any other thing in my yard. My car is parked in the garage.
8. I do not ride a horse to the store.
9. I don't sit on a porch and play Dueling Banjos. If I had a porch, I would sit on it though.
10. I don't think of road kill as "supper".
Not all Nascar fans are redneck; we just love Racing. I happen to be a Dale Jr #8 Chevrolet Budweiser Car FAN!!!
I have loved and followed Nascar for almost 20 years now. I fell in love with Nascar and Dale Earnhardt, Sr. I watched every race every week and went to about 2-3 races a year. Charlotte and Talledega were a given race that I would be at and sometimes I'd add an add'l race if the opportunity presented itself.
When Dale Jr. came up to Winston Cup; I instantly fell in love with him. I still cheered for Dale Sr., but Jr. was my main driver now.
Once Dale Sr. got killed; Nascar just hasn't been the same for me. Most of the drivers are young kids. And yes, literally kids. They act like kids and they are in their early 20s.
I occasionally watch the races now and this is the reason why. This past weekend, the race was at Talledega. Dale Jr. rules this track; however, he didn't qualify well, 33rd. I knew he'd make up spots and come out on top and he would have had it not been for Brian Vickers.
Dale Jr. was leading the race and had 2 laps left. Jimmie Johnson and Brian Vickers were 2nd and 3rd. On the last lap on the backstretch, Jimmie Johnson decided to "try" to pass Dale. Jimmie gets out of line and, of course, Dale went to block him and then Brian Vickers "taps" Jimmie in the rear and Jimmie goes sideways and hits Dale.
Jimmie and Dale go sliding thru the grass and Brian goes on to win the race. What a bunch of BS.
What beats all is that Brian tried to make it to be Dale's fault in the post race interview. Whining like the babies that the new guys are. It furiated me; however, Dale handled it well and said it's just racing.
Then, there is Jeff Gordon, whining about Dale and his bump drafting. Like Dale said, he is good at drafting and everyone wants to see him in their rearview mirror when he's drafting; but then Jeff is griping about it. Dale pushed him around the track.
Can these boys grow up and show us some racing like we want to see it?
When I was in high school, I loved playing Vollyball. I never tried out for any sports throughtout school. I'm not sure why, just wasn't interested in them. To be honest, I really wasn't interested in much in school; except doing my work and graduating.
Anyway, on ACC Sports you can actually watch College Sports on your computer as if you were there. You can catch the action live - or later with on-demand replay that you can enjoy on your own time.
Tonight, it's the Women's Vollyball Team of North Carolina at Florida State @ 7:00 pm on AccSelect.com. So for all you Sportsfans, check out your team on there.

Shane is a HUGE Gator fan and when we first started dating; I bought him a Gator shirt from the University of Florida.
Shane is a big guy, 6'4", so I bought him a 3X; however, when we got the shirt it was like an XL.
Since Florida beat Tennessee, I wanted to get him a college football jerseys
This site actually has a 3X jersey for only $58. Sounds like I have 1 Christmas present in mind that he will love.
He's always wanted a jersey too. Makes him think he is on the team.

Well, Tennessee lost to Florida by 1 point. 1 point!!!!
I'd rather them lose by more than 10 points than just 1 point. Anywho, Shane was happy.
His dad came over and watched the game with Shane and Logan. I ended up going to bed in the 3rd quarter. I'm a TN fan; however, I just don't get into the games as much as I used to.
Well, there's still today's race. Hopefully Junior will WIN!!!
This weekend, the BIG game. VOLS vs GATORS, my team vs Shane's team. I'm glad we will have the kids here this weekend, so that Shane don't act a fool while watching the game. Last year, I had to give him a stuffed football he could throw in case of getting mad and not liking what the Gators are doing.
This year, I have the kids here; so he'll keep his cool.
Also, this weekend starts the last 10 races towards the Nextel Cup Championship. Dale qualified 13th.
GO DALE!!!!! GO VOLS!!!!!
Well, there are 10 races left and Dale Jr. is in 6th place in the points. He could actually win the Championship this year.
I don't watch the races as much as I used since Dale Sr. got killed; but I do keep up with it.
The way they do the points left a lot of boys out of the race for the Championship. Like, TONY STEWART!!! That was a big shock, I'm sure, for all the race fans.
Well, like I said, 10 more races; can Jr. do it?
I sure hope so!!
I'm not a huge football fan; but when it comes to Peyton Manning, I'm willing to watch it if I have the time.
Well, tonight it's Colts vs Giants, Manning vs Manning, Peyton vs Eli. This is the first time in history that brothers have ever went up against each other; especially both being quarterbacks.
So, to be a part of history, I'm watching the game. As of right now, there's 5:29 left in the first quarter and the score is 3-0, Colts.
It looks like The Giants are about to score.
GO COLTS!!!!!

I've always been a Vols fan ever since I was in Junior High. One of my best friend's father was a sports editor and they often invited me to the home games.
Since, The VOLS started out the 2006 season with a win; I decided to make a place on my blog that shows their schedule, opponents and score.
I'll keep this updated every week nad I hope all you VOLS fans enjoy. And If you aren't a VOLS fan, I hope all football enthusiasts will. Or atleast appreciate the effort.
I started following Nascar in 1987 right after I graduated high school. My step-sister and I went to our 1st race in Darlington, NC. I didn't have a favorite driver because I really didn't know anyone; however, I had heard of Dale Earnhardt.
Our seats were so close to the track, we could actually see Dale's "famous" mustache. It was in that moment that I fell in love. In love with Nascar and I had my favorite driver.
Dale Earnhardt went on to win that race and I was hooked. So, I've been following Nascar for almost 20 years now.
Following Dale's death, I switched to Dale Jr. I have the same feeling for Jr. that I did for his dad. I love NASCAR and I love the Earnhardts.
I even had to upgrade to the Silver Package on my cable TV just so I would get the Nascar channel.
Speedtv.com gives you all the information and news you could ever want about Nascar and your favorite driver.
Go Dale Jr # 8....bring us home your first Championship in 2006!!!
Today, TN plays GA. I'm not a huge football fan; but I definately want TN to win. So, in the spirit of football and celebrating a new life this week; GO VOLS!!!!
Giada even thinks so too!!!
Shane is a HUGE Gator Fan and I am a semi-HUGE Vols Fan. As all you Football fans know this weekend is the TN-FL game. Before the game, I have to pack all my breakable things and provide Shane with a stuffed football. This is in case TN wins (unfairly) and he decides to throw something.
He is VERY serious about the Gators. To me, I really don't care who wins, as long as the game is played fair. Meaning, the referees aren't for one team or the other.
Last year, Shane got upset over a play a referee called.
This year, I'm hoping all goes well and my house is in order after TN kicks FL butt!! (hehe)
Just kidding, I'm not that into it; so I hope the Gators win for Shane.
This is what our desktop is on our computer that I just made for Shane to see when he comes in here. ;-)
