Back to The Gym

I started back to the Gym on Friday. I hired a personal trainer for 2 weeks to get me on the road to a weekly routine. 3x week, Monday, Weds and Friday. On Friday, we worked the upper body-ARMS. Let me say, I'm still feeling the pain today.

Tonight is my mid section. I did tell my trainer that I wanted the bat wings(bottom of my arms) and my abs worked on the most. Well, I definitely got what I wanted with the arms because I feel it.

My trainer just kept saying just think about walking down the aisle with toned arms and a flat stomach.

That is my goal and I'm going to try my best to accomplish it.....I just hope I don't kill my muscles in the meantime.

Goal for the Week

This past Tuesday when I went to Weight Watchers(WW), I stayed the same. That's good considering it was the Tuesday after Thanksgiving and I did eat. So, I'm still sitting at 3 lbs. above the goal I set a few weeks back.

I have the willpower to pass up the things I love; however, I just can't get rid of those 3 lbs. I set myself and my mom a goal of losing 5 lbs. this next Tuesday. I think one of my problems is I have a scale now; so everyday I weigh myself. Sometimes I weigh 2 and 3 times a day like something miraculously will have changed. I know weighing yourself everyday isn't good either.

It's funny though how I can feel the difference in my clothes with just a few pounds. Either lost or gained; it doesn't take much, huh?

Well, today is the big day to take Diesel to see Santa. I just wish more stores let you bring your animals into them. We have to go to Pet Smart, then bring Diesel home and then go back to Mall for some Christmas shopping.

Happy Day to All!!!

Will I Ever Stop Dieting?

I've been dieting for almost 2 years now and I am just stuck. And yes, the Holidays don't help. I'm just stuck at a point where I either stay the same or gain a couple of pounds, which I don't want to do. If I could just lose about 4 pounds would put me under a BIG mark in losing weight to my goal. I just can't seem to lose those dang 4 pounds. Once I do meet my long-term goal, will I stop dieting? I mean, I know I'll have to watch my weight, but do I have to stay on a diet for the rest of my life?

I've thought about taking diet pills along with dieting. I know diet pills aren't the best way to lose weight; but like I said, I'd like to get under this mark. I've taken diet pills before and they didn't affect my body to where I feel nervous all the time or make my mind race; however, you just never know what it is doing internally to your body.

N101 Nutrition has Weight Loss Herbs; which I think should be good for you. They have a 15-day Weight Loss Cleanse & Flush that sounds like something that may help me get rid of those pesky 4 pounds. I'm not an addictive person, except for food, so I'm not scared I'll get addictive to diet pills.

I go to Weight Watchers tonight, so we'll see how much damage Thanksgiving did to me. I think I'll be okay; but one never knows.

Ho-hums of Dieting

I had only 3.2 lbs to lose to be under a MAJOR point on my diet. I thought I had done it this week; but no, I only lost the .2 lbs. I want to lose that extra 3 lbs. this next week.

One problem with losing 3 lbs. this week......we are going to my sister's for Thanksgiving Dinner this weekend. My sister's boyfriend is a chef so you know the food is going to be delicious.

I just hope I will have the strength to eat moderately and not overdo it. I mean you can still eat at the Holidays; just have to eat in moderation.

Anyway, pray for me that I'll have the willpower to do good this next week. I have about 6 weeks left in this year and I'd love to lose an extra 10 lbs.

Juggling Diet, Work & Exercise

Ted from PayPerPost did his Team Confessional and it's all about dieting, work and exercise and how do you find time for all of it.

The way he puts things into perspective is really good and entertaining. Click play and see if anything he says sounds familiar. It does to me.

What's so funny is he doesn't even look fat to me; but he says his nephews call him "Mr. Chunk Butt".

I know what he means about finding the time to do it all. Work and dieting I can do without any problem; but the gym is where I feel like I don't have time for. This is my daily routine.

6:00 am - Get up, take Diesel out
6:15 am - Play with Diesel
6:30 am - Computer Time, which includes banking, blogging, shopping, etc.
7:00 am - Fix lunch, make breakfast
7:30 am - Get dressed
8:00 am - Leave for work
8:30 am - 5:15 pm - Work
5:40 pm - Get home
6:00 pm - Eat Dinner
6:45 pm - Play with Diesel
7:15 pm - Computer Time
8:00 pm - Watch TV - down time
10:00 pm - Shower
10:30 pm - 11:00 pm - Sleep

Where exactly does the gym fit in?

Family Time is Not Good for Dieting

Yesterday we went up to my sister's house for the day. As you know, I've been on Weight Watchers for the past year and a half. I've lost a total of 56 lbs.; but I had set a goal for myself to lose 4 lbs. this week.

I was doing good up until yesterday. First of all, my sister lives 3 hours away and my mom and I like to snack when we travel. Yes, I could have gotten healthy snacks to take with us, but what fun would that have been? haha

Anyway, I blew my diet yesterday; so today until Tuesday, I'll be living on less than 800 calories. I know that isn't safe; but I want to lose that 4 lbs.

Discouraging

As you may know, I've been dieting for almost 1.5 years now and it definitely has it's ups and downs.

I didn't exercise for about 12 weeks while I was off on disability and I still lost weight. I've been going back to the gym for about 3 weeks now and have gained weight 2 of the 3 weeks. Yes, I understand it may be muscle; but when you are weighing on a weekly basis via Weight Watchers, you don't want to see that gain when we you trying to eat right.

Just want to do a quick poll on which Gym you prefer.

On the Way Again

I've been going up and down with my dieting lately and then finally realized; I have to get on the stick.

Well, last week I gained 3.8 lbs and this week I lost 5.6 lbs. I'm 4 tenths of a pound to lose 60 lbs.

My goal is to lose another 50 lbs by next May/June. That's 7/8 months away and I'm hoping I'll meet that goal.

I'm going back to the GYM 2-3 days a week and going to try to do my best to get this weight off.

To all the dieters out there, keep up the good work and have faith that you will get that weight off.

Congratulations Mom for your loss also.

Back to the GYM

Over the past 3 weeks, I have been back to the gym. Not really doing too much weight lifting; just mainly cardio and a little weights to get my arms and abs toned up.

I go to Pilates class when I can get there on time. The instructor is really good and great to work with you if you can't do some of the moves.

I would recommend Pilates to anyone that wants a good stretching of your muscles and to be relaxed. It's really a stress reliever.

Next year our company is changing our benefits as far as Fitness. Currently, they pay for us to join the YMCA or the Sports Barn. Next year, we have to maintain our own membership at a variety of gyms and then they will reimburse us $120 every quarter. Not a bad deal; but I think December will be my last month at the gym.

I will still keep walking around my neighborhood but I won't be joining a gym. I would really like to get a Treadmill for my house; but money is so tight right now, this may be something I ask for Christmas.

Yo-Yo Dieting

I've been dieting for over a year now and have lost about 54 lbs.; however, I can't seem to get under this one mark.

One week, I'll lose enough to get under it and then the next week I'll gain to get right back over it.

I did start working out again; going 3 times a week. I'm not going to give up though because of my Reunion being over because I'm just going to make something else to work towards.

My mom wants to go back to NY next year and Shane and I and the kids are finally going to have a Family vacation next year to Orlando and Universal Studios.

If I could lose another 50 lbs. by next Summer, I would be ecstatic. Check out my Weight Loss progress on my homepage and I'll write entries about it periodically.

How does Your State Rank?

As some of you know, I've been dieting for about 15 months now and have lost a total of 54 lbs. I personally think more Americans are trying to be health conscious about their weight and try to live healthier lifes.

I ran across this article about how America is being more obese. Actually, they aren't calling us obese anymore, but actually saying we are getting fatter.

Mississippi has the greatest percentage of overweight people; whereas, Colorado has the smallest.

I used to thing it was rude to say someone was obese. I mean, yes, they may be well over the "suggested" weight; however, obese is just an ugly word. I don't feel obese; however, based on my height and weight, I am.

I don't like; therefore, I'm doing my best to become normal.

Hit The 50 lb. Mark

I finally got to my 50 lb. goal! I have actually lost 52.4 lbs. in 14 months and I still have a way to go to meet my actual weight goal; but 50 lbs. is definitely something I was working towards.

Well, I have 5 weeks until my HS Reunion, so unrealisticly, I'd like to lose another 10 lbs.; but realisticly, 5-7 lbs. would be great also.

Isn't dieting so much fun??

Didn't keep my goal

I have 4 days left until my year of dieting tells the truth. On Tuesday when I weigh in, I have been on Weight Watchers for exactly one year.

My initial goal was 50 lbs. in a year; well, these past 3 weeks have been one big celebration after another.

1) My sister was here for a week and we ate out alot.
2) Went to my niece's high school graduation.
3) Went to my niece's baby shower. Ate plenty. (different niece)
4) My aunt has been here for the past 2 weeks. Ate out alot and picked on junk food.

I haven't been to weight watchers in 2 weeks so when I weighed in this past week, I was scared. I was very scared. I had gained 2 lbs. Not bad for everything I was binging on.

So this week, I've been walking a mile everyday and have worked out once so far. I know I can't lose 7 lbs. in 4 days, but I'm trying to lose as much as I can.

I'll let you know how Tuesday goes.

3 Weeks until a Year

I have 3 weeks left until I have been dieting for a year now. My initial goal was 50 lbs in a year; well, I have 4 lbs 2 oz to lose in that 3 weeks.

The way I've been losing, well rather gaining, I'm getting scared that I won't do that.

I know I can make myself lose 5 lbs in 3 weeks, but will I?

Stay tuned to find out if I make it. I'll post a new picture if I do.

Dieting Update

I felt like I was in a blah about my dieting. I mean, my year mark was coming up and I wasn't losing like I wanted in order to meet a goal I had set. I wanted to lose 50 lbs in 1 year. I would have liked to lose 60, but I thought 50 was an attainable goal.

I now have 7 weeks left and have lost a total of 45 lbs. I think my goal of 50 lbs. will definitely be met and I'm working towards 60 lbs.

Even though the gym is getting old; I will be there 3 times a week in order to really push me to make the 60 lbs. mark.

My mom has lost 32 lbs., so I'm going to try to push her into making it to the 40 or 50 lbs. mark.

So, mom, get ready!!! We are on a mission (or atleast I put you on one too!).

Dieting Woes

I have come to a weight loss plateau. For the past 3 weeks, I've gained a total of 2.2 lbs.

I can't seem to get it together and get back on track. I definitely don't want to stay on a weight gaining path.

I've lost 40 lbs so far and have 8 weeks until my 1 year mark. My goal is 50 lbs. in a year.

Wish me luck and prayer that I'll have the strength to stay on my diet and exercise faithfully.

This is my scale.....

Work and Diet Combo

First of all, let me give a shout out to my mom. HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM, I LOVE YOU!!!!

Now, I wanted to keep you updated on my new job. I just want to say that I LOVE IT!!!! This was the best career move that I could have taken in my 16 years at my current employer.

I really believe that where I'm at will take me places that I want to be. Everyone in my department is so wonderful and nice. The environment is nice and such a relaxed atmosphere that I truly enjoy going to work.

My supervisor is great also. Besides my manager, he has to be the best supervisor/manager that I have worked for.

Since I moved back downtown, we don't snack as much; however, my diet hasn't been doing that great. I got stuck in a spot where I was gaining .5 lb here, .2 lb there, 1 lb, 2 lbs...and not really losing. I do try to walk on my lunch hour and when I do walk, I walk a mile atleast.

This week, I lost 2.8 lbs and got under a mark that I was having problems getting under. I think I'm back on track and will make my goal of losing 50 lbs in a year. I'd really like to lose 60, but I'll take 50.

Wish me luck!

Results from Experiment

Okay, I went and weighed today and I lost 3.4 LBS!!! I was so excited. So, I think the working out 5 days a week really helps. I not only worked out and saved those points I get from working out; but I also ate 1.5 pts less each day than I'm allotted.

So, since I lost 3.4 lbs., I drop another point. So, this week; I'm going to eat 1 point less than I'm allotted and still work out and see what happens.

Look out 20th High School Reunion!!!!

Experiment

I'm going to try a new Experiment this week with my dieting and exercising. Usually if I work out 1x a week, I lose more weight than if I exercise say 2 or 3x a week.

So.....this week, I'm going to exercise every day until Tuesday when I weigh in at Weight Watchers. So far, I've done it; but I still have the weekend to get thru. By exercising; I mean 20 mins walking, which equals a mile, and then 30 mins weights.

I'll let you know my end results on Tuesday.

Dieting

Okay, it is official; I've lost 35 lbs in 7 and a half months. I'm still exercising at the gym atleast 2 days a week. I'm still pysched up about losing weight.

This year will be my 20th High School Reunion. I don't have any details about it except that I hear it will be in September. That gives me 7 more months to lose weight. If I could lose another 35 lbs, that would be GREAT!!!

I need to lose about another 100 lbs, but I'll take another 35 before the Reunion. I really hope the Reunion will be formal, especially if I've lost more weight.

If so, I can't wait to go SHOPPING!!!

I've already told Shane that he HAS to go with me to the Reunion. I think it will be blast even though I don't feel old enough to be going to a 20th year Reunion.

Anyway, I'll definitely keep you posted with my weight loss. I wish I had taken a before picture. Oh well, for those that don't see me alot, the end result will be surprising!!

NO MORE SQUATS!!!!

As you all know, I've been in my work's Corporate Fit Start for the past 7 weeks now (yea, 1 more week to go!). About 2 weeks ago, our trainer had us doing about 20 squats. I didn't think they were anything as I was doing them; however, the next day I could barely walk. Well, I swore then I'd NEVER do squats again.

Welllllll.....Tuesday, our trainer asked us if we wanted to do squats? I was like, "yea, we haven't done them in a while". (thinking they would be fine).

He sat down 3 dumbells, a 35 lb, 30 lb and a 25 lb. We had to do 6 squats with the 35, 8 with the 30 and then 10 with the 25. TWICE!!!!!!!! That equals 48 SQUATS!!!!

I thought I was dying while I was doing my last set of 10; however, I came home from work early today because my legs hurt so much that it's making me sick and wore out.

Next time, my answer will be "No!".

Exercising Finally Paid OFF

I've been exercising atleast 2 nights a week for the past 5 weeks; in that time I've managed to gain weight. Everyone keeps saying it's muscle that I'm gaining and that in time I'll start loosing weight.

Well, the TIME HAS COME!!!!

I went to Weight Watchers Tuesday night and lost 6.5 lbs!!!!!!

YEA!!! I was so excited. That was just what I needed to get motivated again and start loosing more.

I still have 3 weeks on my FitSmart program, but I'm hoping I'll do great next week also.

Thanks to everyone that has supported me and cheered me to keep going!!!

Dieting, ughhhh!!

I'm getting tired of dieting. Well, let me rephrase that. The dieting isn't so bad; it's the NOT loosing that is discouraging me.

I've been dieting for 19 weeks now, that is almost 5 months) and I've lost a total of 21 lbs. Now, I'm starting to go back and forth; loose a pound 1 week, gain 1.5 the next and back and forth.

I'm working out atleast 2 days a week and last week, I even walked around my neighborhood 2 days a week also. I gained 1.4 lbs this week.

How long does it take to build enough muscle to make you start loosing the FAT???!!!!

Smart Fit

As you know, I've been dieting for the past 3 months and have lost about 20 lbs. I still need to loose ALOT more weight; however, I have noticed that the areas that I have lost weight are becoming flabby. So, I've decided it's time to start working out.

My work offers their employees a Corporate Smart Fit Program with the YMCA. You have to agree to go workout twice a week for 1 hour. If you complete the program, they reimburse you your medical premium. I decided that was an extra incentive for me to get off my butt and work out.

I don't mind going to the "Y" by myself; but I thought I'd try to recruit a friend of mine to go with me.

My dear friend, Zona, of whom I've worked with for the past 15 years is going with me. So, next Tuesday at 6:00 pm, Zona and I will be getting measured and ready to transform our bodies into "The Next Top Model". Well, a person can dream, can't they?

I went out and bought me an iPod Shuffle so that I can listen to music while I work out. It is really a fun little gadget!!!

It states it will hold 120 songs; however, I only got 74 to fit on mine. I guess because some of the songs I listen to are longer than most songs.

Anyway, wish me luck on working out and Happy Autumn, tomorrow!!!

Weigh In

I GAINED 2 LBS!!!! I was not a happy camper. I feel like I have been sticking to it and yet still gained?? I did start walking and we have been going to the Lake every weekend and swimming. Usually when I exercise, for some reason, I gain weight. I think it's muscle that I'm gaining; however, I don't like to hear that I gained 2 lbs. I won't be exercising anymore until I loose more weight.

Dieting

As I sit here on lunch eating my fish; I thought I would write a blog about my diet. I have been on Weight Watchers (WW) for 7 weeks and have lost a total of 12 lbs. It has been fairly easy this time. I think I was ready to loose weight for good.

On WW, you really can eat what you want as long as you count your points. For those skinny people out there; every piece of food/drink you put in your mouth has a point system assigned to them.

Shane and I have started walking 2 nights a week, 1 mile each night. I hate walking; but it sure does burn the calories.

Each week, I'll update my weight loss to you let you know how much I lost that week. I go every Tuesday evening to weigh in. Wish me luck and stay tuned!!!

My goal is to fit into a bikini next summer. HAHA!! I'll be 38 next year, so a bikini may not be the actual choice of bathing suits; but definately a two piece that shows some skin.
